| So, you conservative nutjobs, I have a question for you
How can you still believe in the GOP when they can't even pass a simple bill? This is stupid, and has been for the last few weeks now. Get it together, and get to wrecking the country faster, please. At this rate, Obama's oldest daughter will get elected before the GOP can agree on anything. |

Thought the point of most (if not all) politicians was to obstruct as much as they can they don't agree with, and live by "all or nothing" mentality. Bulk move back to center a tad and actually work it out, might actually get some meaningful shit done. This point if next pres is dem and they have majority they will spend their time undoing everything, making insurance an even bigger mess. Cycle will continue, it's the new norm. Unless enough meet in the middle to outweigh the extreme left and right. |

That's a myth that needs to die, what they actually said was that we would have to wait and see the real world effects of the bill after it was fully implemented. The PP part and expanded medicaid helped many people and the primary reason for the increased cost was that crappy policies were no longer allowed. I hate the PPACA and I hate defending it, but we need to be accurate in order to fix the problem. The main difference between the process of passing the PPACA and the AHCA is transparency and bi-partisanship. The only bright spot I can see from this whole debacle is that we may see singe payer sooner.

Your claim was that Pelosi and Reid said to read the bill after, there are no quotes to that effect in the posted article it's just republicans whining about having to do their jobs

Anyway, there is a simple change that will solve the entire issue, lower the Medicare eligibility age to zero.

Much easier way, ELIMINATE health insurance companies. Think about that, eliminate the middleman who do nothing except rape your wallet. My Orthopedic has to have any procedure pre approved .... So the insurance company knows more than my Dr. ? Hang up and Drive

With that, the DNC and RNC are collectively about as useful as tits on a bore hog, and are, in fact, just opposite sides of the same dirty coin.

You are correct, single payer (Medicare for all) will eliminate for-profit basic Heath insurance. And if individuals want to buy a supplementary plan from a for-profit, they should be free to do so without subsidy or tax credits.

I hope your not referring to ALL of us here as conservative nutjobs because some of the previous comments above are FAR from that. Its coming down to 8 white Republican senators in the Rayburn building. One of those guys I think from Nevada is totally against the bill. It's hard to fathom that it only comes down to those handful of people. Lol @mikemcE "send me some of what your smokin" |

Fixing the VA is actually quite simple, if anyone would commit to it: 1. Fund at the level it needs to be funded. 2. Modernize the computer systems so that they are on par with the private sector. The VA is still on a mainframe system from the 80s. - Once these two things have been done, let the system actually run for a period of time to figure out what works and what needs to be overhauled.

Since the Republican Party is in control of the budget so they need to take some responsibility. P.S. I agree with your description and prescription.
