Default lift kit

How do you build a lift kit for a rc truck because this is for a traxxas rustler xl-5 and how hard is it?

Metric tools. Parts are less critical.

im not familure with this rig but some simple shock keys should do the trick if not you can make some out of aluminum about 1/8th thick you can pick it up at just about any hardwere store then something to cut the aluminum like tin snips or heavy duty sissors and cut slow
the shock keys will cost less than the tin snips and proba ly about the same as the aluminum sheet

badicly you just droping the upper shock mounting points down to get more lift or buy longer shocks

Hardest/Cheapest usually go together.

As do Most expensive and easiest.

Most easyiest would be to buy the lift kit if one is avaliable, it would probably be the most expensive option.

Depending on your skill level, making one could be easy, It could also be the most expensive depending on what tools you have.

You need to learn to use the search function. Also, stop posting duplicate threads.

The Traxxas Rustler is a very basic 2 wheel drive stadium truck and is not easily lifted.

This forum has much more to do with rock crawlers and not so much about what you have.

It does have some parts in common with the Traxxas Stampede, which is much more of a "lifted" style truck.

I did a quick Google search on "traxxas rustler to stampede conversion" and found lots of forum posts and even YouTube videos on it - that is by far the best way to go.

Traxxas Rustler and Stampede parts are super cheap because they have both been around forever, and you can even build a stronger than stock Stampede by using RPM brand stuff wherever possible. The Stampede also has a ton of aftermarket bodies available to totally customize your truck.

Here's an example YouTube link:

How hard would it be to swap stampede suspension onto the rustler xl-5?

That was a very thoughtful, and well meaning post. Wait for the OP’s reply....

It’s all relative. Probably impossibly difficult for a newborn, very easy for a mechanic.

Start with the right tools and a solid plan of action.

Did you try watching the video and searching on Google yet?

Here's another video:

There’s a video link in post #12 of this thread. Did you not see that?

I think you're all fighting a losing cause here. He asks questions, but doesn't seem to do anything to help himself. His username has similar history on other forums.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink...

I'll close my involvement in this thread by stating that I owned a Rustler (my 1st R/C ever!) many, many years ago - and a few years later added a Stampede to the mix.

The Rustler handled much better at high speed, but the Stampede could run in taller grass and would pull wheelies on demand.

Use Google to find videos on how to help yourself and to find OTHER forums (there are many that talk about Rustlers, this isn't one of them) for any answers I haven't helped with.

I've outgrown such things and only have crawlers now - my only non-crawler is an 1/8th scale Team Associated DB8 Desert Buggy (40mph+!) that I keep forgetting to box up and sell.
