Default Onyx 235

Buddy used to have a slash and had this in storage, just gave it to me. Is it a trustworthy charger? Any reason to worry about using it? Been running 8.4v nimh so far and have no experience with lipo.

Absolutely use it, lots of people are currently using that exact model. Great basic charger.

I'd use some compressed to blow the dust and cobwebs out, but other than that I'd just run it.

Got everything set up when my battery arrived, it just beeps and says volt error. I’ve verified my settings as 3s 11.1v and measured the battery at 11.8 with a multimeter. Thought 3s charged to 12.6v? Something wrong with the charger maybe?

Dumb question, but do you have the balance connector plugged into the onyx?

+1 on that. I couldn't figure out why mine wouldn't charge for a minute and turned out to be that balance plug. Felt real dumb the first time I plugged it in correctly lol

Balance plug is connected. Ended up fidgeting with it for a while and got it to charge. Ran the battery down to 11.2v and it still wouldn’t charge until I dropped the charging amps. Battery says charge at 2.2a, dropped it to 2a and it started charging. Oh well, thanks for all the input.

3s really woke that truck up, had it doing donuts on the kitchen floor lol.
