That was a sweet movie by far. I tryed to get into the Marines a few years ago, but they would not let me in. I was going for Marine Sniper.

If there is one thing I've learned in life, it's never piss of a US Marine Sniper. |

Not trying to piss anyone off, I just think he's exaggerating on his group size. I have no doubt he's a helluva shot given his job.

I'm not sure what you're trying to show me with that article, it says nothing about accuracy. I've already said that I have no doubt you're a good shot and I would certainly hope you've had plenty of training to do what you do. I just want to know how you can be 6 times more accurate than the "world record" on a regular basis with an inferior round off a bag/bipod, no rear rest (I assume) and prone no less with a heavy trigger (>2oz). What makes you guys so much better than people that shoot 1000yd comps regularly and don't come close? These guys shoot daily as well and can't do it, yet Marine Scout Snipers can under more adverse conditions? While I'm not sure, I'd bet one or two of them were snipers at one time as well. I'm sure you see why I'm questioning your claim. Last edited by 666; 07-09-2007 at 02:52 PM. | |

I didn't think it was too funny a gun that powerful was flippin out of their hands. Check that. I thought it was funny but they shouldn't. You ever shot an SKS usmc? Pretty much a semi-auto AK |

I have 4 differant types of the SKS, great cheap guns, quite a bit differant than a AK, a little more accurate than a AK but I like shooting my AK's better.

Usmc, As to your post with the article. I saw a TV show on a compition like that. It showed how the snipeers try to crawl into position without being observed. Many were seen before shooting. But as I remember in the show I saw, the best sniper team was a British officer team. It was a best in the world event cross training together to better allied forces. I for one still prefer a 308 type rifle for distance. I hunt with a Browning Lever action 308. It's not as solid as a bolt but better than a semi on groups. I also have an old sniper style rifle, The 8mm Mauser Model 98 the sights on it go up to 2000 yards. But I only shoot it to about 375 yards. Thanks for what you do!!!! |

| Why wouldn't the "civilian version" of the A3 come with an "A3-like" stock? Instead of the A1 stock shown? I am honestly asking here. Seems to me if someone was producing a civilian version of the A3, it would look like an A3, and not an A1. Who makes the civilian version of the A3? I thought M40s were just super modified Remingtons. Does Remington make this civilian version of the A3?

Got yourself a posting trifecta there. As long as you hit what you aim at I'm proud. Its when you hit what you were aiming to not hit that I worry. |

usmc- Don't let these guys bring you down. I was in the Marines ('90-'94) I've been out a little over 13 years now. I wasn't a sniper, I was artillery (not as accurate, but a much larger kill raduis.) I have found over the years that most, not all, but most of the naysayers don't have a clue what it takes to be in the military let alone be able to hack it. Keep up the great work devildog.
