| How do you sell something you don't have?
I found this post in the for sale section... http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=88417 And this ebay auction which ended yesterday... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=130162706165 How do you sell something you don't even have? This is why the rules are in place in the classifieds. We should stick to the post limit regardless if you have a star or not. |

Guessing by the seller's names, I'd say it's the same person, and he sold it on E-Bay instead of here.

Its the buyers, check out the winner's name on eBay, then look at the RCC members e-mail address. The winner is selling it.

"Truck is well worth it. Climbs great has no problems getting up the hills or over the rocks. I cleaned up every part of this truck and it looks brand new!" He has no idea how it climbs, nor has he cleaned every part. Oh, and how about this one: "These are a few items I just had in front of me and wanted to list." Nope, that's not bullsh1t at all!!!! | |

Did some checking up on this guy after he offered to sell me an AX-10 under suspicious cicumstances. He goes by the screen names ChopSawCustoms here and on Scale 4X4, TuberFreak on RCMT, TubeFrameFreak on RC Junkyard. He's had some strange things going on in his life in the last few weeks: Some kid who lived with him and his family ripped off a bunch of people on RC Junkyard: http://www.rcjunkyard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9014 His mom got diagnosed with cancer: http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14940 End up "accidently" bidding on 3 AX-10s on Ebay. He deleted the original post but the replys are still there: http://myrcmt.com/bd/showthread.php?t=5301 If you read through everything he is a 20 year old with a daughter old enough to play with a RC10T3, who just got ripped off by a kid who lived with his family, who stloe a whole bunch of his RCs, who is selling all his stuff to help his mom, but is still buying stuff on eBay (just yesterday), to fund his scale crawler Last edited by hawnmt; 10-16-2007 at 12:48 AM. |

I think his days here at RCC will be numbered. I've already had dealings with him about his sig. One of the other mods deleted it. But I smell fish. That Item was from Pa, Chopsaw lives in Minneapolis, a lil far to have gotten to him already. Some people think their sneaky. Last edited by freetimecrawler; 10-15-2007 at 07:17 PM. |

| Actually, he's buying and not simply paying for items. I know for a fact he doesn't have the Ripper chassis with the Red Sudden Impact body as that was offered to me. It was purchased and never paid for originally. Tuberfreak (RCMT) and Hellbound (Clodtalk) may not be the same person, but they're posting from the same IP addresses. They also have very similar stories and writing styles. soccerchickkimmy and Maxxhustlas are most likely the same person on Ebay. If the mods want the sale to continue, have at it. Whoever buys it won't be receiveing the Ripper. Can't speak to the crawler, but I wouldn't rate the person's chances as very high... Last edited by CPE MT; 10-15-2007 at 07:24 PM. |

To '83 Chevy, whose post has been deleted. No, I don't see an overall problem with buying something cheap, and selling it here for a profit. Heck, if I ran across a Bruiser for $20 at a yard sale, I would have no problem listing it here for $800 if it was worth that to the right person. But a couple of problems exist here outside of that. 1) the member just won that first auction yesterday, and it advertising it here, under false terms, without even possessing the item yet. 2) The false claims of how well the vehicle performs, when the member has no idea how it performs.........and the claims that he/she has a whole closet full of stuff to go through and sell. Overall, selling items for a profit, not a no-no at all. A newbie selling two trucks that he/she have bought off eBay in the past week, both for a profit, and one that he/she can't even physically touch yet, is a huge no-no IMO. Against the rules? Not sure. Against the morals and intentions of the classifieds section of RCC? I would say yes. |

(to Robb's post) Thats what I was meaning when I said that, buying and selling for a profit is no biggie to me but like you said selling something you don't have yet is. Wonder who he bought this from? http://cgi.ebay.com/Thunder-Tech-RIP...QQcmdZViewItem Last edited by '83 chevy; 10-15-2007 at 07:29 PM. |
