Default First new thread requires approval?

Hiya,

New registrant here, posted a loooooong introduction thread with some info and some questions yesterday in the newbie section, however, when I posted it, I think it flashed a message that it would be approved by a mod (flashed by pretty quick) I figured ok, first new thread and all, but it wasn't approved yesterday (no big deal, assuming it will eventually be approved).

But it did make me wonder what the procedure is for this, so I started looking through the FAQs and help, and rules, and I can find no reference to this 'first thread requires approval' thing, so I am now wondering if everything is ok? If it is normal, perhaps you guys could consider adding some info as to how and why in the FAQ or rules. Just a suggestion.

If its just a delay in approvals, don't worry about it, I have no issue whatsoever, as a mod on RCUniverse myself, I am well aware of the pressures and demands made on moderator's time.

Thanks for reading.
