Default Search Function Help

I posted this back in early May under Newbie General, "How to use the search button" sticky, but did not get any responses.

Is there a way to do an "AND" function with the search engine? I'd like to be able to search thread titles for "word1" AND "word2", such that the results return only the threads with titles containing both words.

I've tried many different ways of doing this and have searched the forum, but have not found an answer.

I just feel like I'm wrestling with the search function and being woefully inefficient.

All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

Anybody, anybody?

Sorry to keep hammering on this. I'm just looking for a more efficient way to search. Then, hopefully, I won't have to bug all y'all as much.

Thanks!

I believe that you just need to search "word1 word2" (with search title only) and they will both be in the returns.

Thanks johnnyh66. That helps, but "word1 word2" returns only titles having the exact phrase "word1 word2". I'd like to be able to return titles containing both word1 and word2 even when word1 and word2 have something else in between them.

Maybe, I'm just being too picky. However, I think it would be a nice feature to be able to search this way.

Still no clear answer on this. Is there a way to do an logical "AND" search for two words that are both present in the title?

Maybe try "word1, word2".

I just tried "axial ax10" and "axial, ax10" and got back slightly different results.
