As a club looking at a scale class there is push back on giving to many deduct points. But I'm of the opinion that, that's how it should be done you need the deduct points for encouraging exceptional realism.

Is there a "you take that off any sweet jumps?" points group? I'd like to see some of these Nancy's with shelf queens actually drive their rigs.

Log jump -5 points.

Scale Nylint jump -10 points.

I guess I'll be out of the -25 club since I can't bring myself to put a bunch of stuff that really doesn't pertain to hard core thrashing 4x4ing.
I've tried to come up with realistic bumpers etc for BB but its just a beat up ol' mud truck so....

IMO we have a class for that already 2.2 comp trucks, this is a scale class and should be about both preformance, overall appearace and details. I respect and enjoy both. The US Tamiya Nationals should have the highest standards for scale rigs, and the deduct point system is a great way to encourage and reward detail and preperation. It's being done very well.

You will put her anywhere BUT completely underwater? Why? These are no worse then making her a submarine.

Hey Patrick , I just like the fact that scale rigs are getting the attention they deserve with the Tamiya Nationals. I think the -35 point rule is good.
I apologize if my post was confusing.

Half the rigs up there won't be competing. It's bringing it up there to do the free stuff that's going to be the most fun and most popular. Bring it to drive on Fri and Sun.

The old Scout's got a 3-speed in it. I love those things.

Scout comes in at -25 (or -23 if the roof rack is contested). The FJ40 hog from hell has 31 scale points

the scout is still one of the most real looking rigs I have seen run. it has got the looks and even the performance scale down to a T.
