This weekend at our Little Moab comp a couple of Utah State Rangers/Police came out there and I had a good chat with them. Basically Little Moab is good. We can have as many comps out there as we want. It is on state land and there is no problems doing our comps on Utah wilderness land.

And about Moab. One of our guys here is a Police Officer and he just got back from Moab and spoke the the police there. They told him a gathering at Potato Salad hill is fine.

Now I assume that if our comps do get out of hand and we have complaints buy others that it could be a problem. But I will close down a comp before it gets out of hand. There has never been anything at our comps that has even approched "out of hand" so I don't see this being a problem ever.

Utah RULES!!!! Colorado SUCKS!!!!

That's cool that they have no problems with it, at the rate we're going here in Colorado, we'll have to finish our winter series in Utah.

Default Legality

Hi, I usually don't post on these forums but Being from Moab I figured this kind of applies to me. Being a member of the red rock 4 wheelers I have seen countless land issues and permit problems. I'm Also a member of NAGCA (North american grand cherokee association) and when they have their annual meet in Moab they must keep their numbers under 50 vehicles (I don't remember why but it gets very expensive after 50). Also to my understanding potato salad hill is privately owned but the owner is nice enought to allow people on it at their own risk. If anyone has been to Potato Salad hill on super saturday over Jeep safari you could see what a nightmare this is for the cops (literally thousands of drunken college students) So when they see a bunch of tame people with rc crawlers on the rocks I think they're kind of relieved.

My buddy and I have been crawling just outside of Castle rock Colorado. While out "wheelin" in our jeeps (dirt road), we came across a rock section that is perfect for rock crawlin, both 1:1 and scale. If anyone is interested in doing a get together or just wanna check it out... you will need 4wheel drive!!!! or at least ground clearance. here are the directions:

From I25 and Wolfensburger exit in castle rock, take Wolfensburger west twards the mountains. At the T (stop sign) take a left (south) for a couple of miles, take a right onto Daken Road (dirt) follow that up to the top of the switch backs and it will T, hang a left and you will come to a really big roundabout, hang right, go around and enter the gate on you right. once through, this is where most cars park. There are 2 rock sections you can play on with the rc rigs, the first is a little ways up on the left hand side of the trail.. trust me, you cant miss it.... the second one, the way better one is a couple of miles down the trail.... along the way you will incounter a couple of parking spots, keep hanging to the left. You will also incounter some large rutted spots.. you can go around them... or play on em to after the ruts you will run into the rock steps... park your truck off the the side and the rock sections will be on your right. The rocks go up and around the corner... I spent 4 hours up there this last weekend. Next time i will take some more pics and post em. Here is one from my buddies nylint 1:6th ...

HUGE NYLINT PIC

The rock section is at the 90 degree bend, if you like, you can use GPS and follow the long. and lat. Have fun.
