I was just thinking. The spare would probably be measured mounted on the rig, right. So if you stuff it with, i don't know, narrow and tall stiff foam, you get the desired diameter. Or is this against the rules?

Functional winch (-3)

Led's ,must have 2 headlights and 2 taillights, and must be on during comp, (-2)

Bumpers (Must be attached to frame) Metal -2 front, -2 rear, -5 for both metal only. Must look like 1:1 bumpers.

FULL features - Tube bed, Full 6-point roll cage. Must be made of metal. (-4 each)

MINOR features - Rock sliders ( must have left and right ), spare tire rack must be made of METAL, (2) items -4

Chassis mounted steering servo .(-5)

Accessories: "Functional " tow strap, hi-lift jack, shovel.

* Accessories & Drivetrain : if you have three items or more, –3, no duplicates.

Total - 34 Points

Is that accurate?

The tube bed and roll cage are kind of combined, so I wouldn't give you points for both, but you'd still be at -30.

I think it's good to hammer out the points like this as there is some room for interpretation. Hopefully more guys/gals will post up their rigs to hammer out any questions ahead of time.

Rear bumper is part of the tube frame, not really a substantial "bumper" by itself. You're still at -30.

Same thing with your roll cage and tube bed, they are combined, so no points for one of them. Still at -30.

I'd say no on the spare tire mount. An axle stub brazed to the frame doesn't cut it. -28 points.

I think that if a tire is close and you stuff it to make it a little bigger, that it would be OK. The 1/4" rule is there to keep people from running tiny, unscale tires.

If I make a mount that mounts to the bed with 3 points and has a mount like this would it count?

Would my Unimog count as having a tubed bed? That would be -4

Ok, to throw my hat in the ring so to speak:

Full length hardbody -7

3D Interior -3

Functional winch -3

Led's ,must have 2 headlights and 2 taillights, and must be on during comp, (-2)

Bumpers (Must be attached to frame) -5 for both metal only. Must look like 1:1 bumpers.

FULL features - Full 6-point roll cage. Must be made of metal. (-4)

Chassis mounted steering servo .(-5)

So sitting at -29 for trail class. Can throw in an accessory for that last point I suppose !

Will get some additional pics (body off, bottom, etc.) by this weekend.

Have you guys ever measured the 1.9 Rockstomper? I bought a set because they were always advertised as 4.25" and was like WTF these things are tiny. I measured them with a tape measure and they were just barely over 4". So 4.17" like Pinch said is about right.

It's amazing to me how many tire manufactures (Pro-Line, RC4WD, Losi, etc..) can't seem to get their tire dimensions right.

It's sad really.

I agree, I wasted a lot of money on 1.9 Rockstompers and 1.9 Flatirons thinking they were 4.25" tall and they ended up being too small.

My rear bumper is integrated into the cage like a desert truck. This is still considered a rear bumper right?

Do I get points for a front bumper? As you can see the winch mount/bumper protrudes past the end of the frame and where the grill would be. Just like what I would consider a bumper.

also depends on wheel size, ive got two sets of flat irons, one set is on some rc4wd wheels and another set on the stock axial wheels. all 1.9 size, and the rc4wd the tires are a smaller dia. than being on the axial wheels.

Keep in mind that you are getting -5 points for a spare tire and mount, so make it look good. An axle stub with a nut on it isn't going to cut it. If you want points for a spare tire mount, then make it interesting and cool looking.

As far as your Unimog goes, since you're already getting points for the tube chassis, then you can't get points for a tube bed.

Can't see your rear bumper, but everything else looks good. That fire extinguisher puts you at -30 .

Oh Chris, blurring the lines a little bit I see. Not sure about the rear bumper. There was an issue last year with my truck, and I haven't been getting rear bumper points since last May.

Do you think that you should get them with yours but I shouldn't ? Just wondering.

As far as your front, it's kind of a bumper. What does everyone else think about these bumpers? Should Chris get -5 for both of them?
