Since then the major changes are: 1. Your wheelbase should not extend past 12.5" through your suspension cycle with your wheels pointed straight. 2. Rollovers (+5) have to be handled from the side of the chassis - NOT the tires and 2 tires have to remain in contact with the ground. If the rollover is not clean it's a reposition instead (+10pts) to the last cleared gate. 3. Boundary penalties are live only if your touch them with your truck, you can now jump over them with your truck without getting penalized. Once your truck touches a boundary, time is stopped (+10pts) and you are placed back to the last cleared gate. 4. Rules for gate penalties are more clear. The only way to get a gate penalty (+10pts) is to touch the gate with your truck. example: If you attempt into gate#4 and start to straddle without touching the gate, as long as you haven't got all 4 wheels through you can reverse out and still attempt that gate without a straddle or gate penalty. If you decide to go ahead and clear the gate while straddling you will get your 10 point straddle penalty and the progress. 5. You can no longer get penalized for stepping on a gate or a boundary line. 6. Progress points are now worth -2. Here is a link to the most up to date rules http://usrcca.com/rules/USRCCA_2011_...01-15-2011.pdf There are probably some other changes that I can't remember so it would be best just to read the whole thing. And of course the sportsman class rules. 2.5 – Sportsman Class (Optional): ▪ 2.5.1 - Vehicle wheelbase is limited to a maximum of 12.5 inches. ▪ 2.5.2 - Vehicle track width is limited to a maximum of 12.5 inches. This is determined by measuring the bottom of the outer most edge of the front and rear tires while the vehicle is sitting on level ground. ▪ 2.5.3 - Vehicle is limited to 2.2 inch wheels/rims or smaller at the bead surface. Wheels may be modified, provided that the tire bead surface does not exceed 2.2 inches in diameter. With a tire mounted, no exterior component of the wheel, including but not limited to, the bead lock ring shall exceed 2.55". Tires may be modified from other sized tires using only a pliable rubber, but must not exceed a total uncompressed outer diameter of 6 inches. ▪ 2.5.4 - Vehicles are limited to 2-wheel steering only. ▪ 2.5.5 – The body and Bodiless vehicles same as Class 2 vehicle –2.2 (See Sec. 2.3.5 & 2.3.6) ▪ 2.5.6 - Vehicles are limited to the use of 2 radio channels (one for steering & one for throttle) only. Neither channel can be used to perform more than one function. Radio systems with more than 2 channels are allowed, but only 2 channels may be used to control the vehicle. ▪ 2.5.7 - Vehicles are limited to 1 ESC & 1 servo only. ▪ 2.5.8 - (OPTIONAL) Vehicles are limited to 1 motor powering both of the axles. |

Sorry but we don't compete with scalers. ARCC supports COMP 1.9, 2.2 sport, 2.2 pro and Superclass crawlers that abide by the USRCCA guidelines that I included in my above post. Most of us still own scalers and we bring them to every event for a fun run after the comp is over.

Ok cool. Maybe we can use your tennis balls as bonus gates, and the new axial green gates as regular gates. I have enough axial gates for four 8-gate courses. It should be real easy to distinguish what's what. 3-4 sport/pro courses at the new spot will work out great and then we can bus over to some larger rocks for the remainder of the day.
