I'm in and for those who are interested we will be having a build and BBQ session on Sunday the 8th to prep all our trucks for this TTC. Just post info or interest in the build n BBQ thread. Yoda4x4 curious if you had any up to date pics of the course. Sent from my iPhone 3GSlow but still works flawlessly. Last edited by AsILayDying; 12-15-2011 at 04:54 PM. |

Had an idea that could be fun do like a tri truck challenge or team comp to where the best combined times to get an entire team thru the course or pick a team and the sled slalom and course time idk something to make a team effort would be cool

We have done that before it is fun the one thing it all depends on how many show and what class trucks show to make the teams even... and you draw out of a hat to see who your team mates will be... we might have to to that next round..... | |

Going out to New Red today to see where we were with our rigs was an eye opener for sure. Realized that my SCALE Trail Rig is definately gonna stay on the trail. The course at New Red is nice but honestly just to much technically for my rig without breaking something every 5 minutes. The uphill just over the bridge is very cool, as well as the telephone pole bridge climb but the level of rock crawling and amount of rocks seems more designed for an actual crawler. Yoda4x4 is a great guy who met us out there and showed us a few things on the course which was very helpful (thanks) but honestly if I was really going to attempt this course in a competition I would have to completely rebuild my rig from ground up. I have taken my rigs out in the woods and done a number of TRAIL runs with excellent performance (my Cherokee is TRAIL READY). Within 2 minutes on this course I broke a bolt in my steering knuckle, fixed then broke again, fixed then broke the screw/pin that holds my upper links in place on the axle. Fixed and then broke the Knuckle screw AGAIN. After that I was pretty much done running on the course. I have done hill climbs, tank traps, mud bogs, river crossing, tug of war, log crossing and some decent rock crawling up in Sanford Boat Ramp with a very good outcome. I believe either I was just having a VERY bad day driving or my rig just is not set up for techinacl rock crawling. Like Zeb said I too most likely will not be attending as a competitor in this competition. We may still come to help and take pics. The course has a good amount of area but at its current setup it would be better for 2.2's with dig and better crawling characteristics. |

I will have too agree. The course is too difficult for scalers and not challenging enough for crawlers. Don't take it negative, it just needs some work.

Well thank you for your input please fell free to give me any idea's to make it better for scalers I know that the crawlers is hard to built for, it take's alot to challenge them but I think this spot would be great for scalers just need more input and help from you guys to make it what you want...

My idea move it to daytona and I'll be there every day to help lol I wish but I'll be out as much as I can to help build One thing I would like to see is a little less of the sand and maybe more of a actual dirt for the hill climbs something that would pack and rut up and tires grab more. Something else would be cool would be more of a winding path or trail aspect with log obstacles or side hilling to challenge your use of the winch to prevent roll overs |
