Derrick (M_ENERGY)...the problem with us as a club using the rocks by the falls for a "sanctioned" event is that if someone gets hurt, or if some official has a problem with us being on those rocks it wouldn't be a good situation. I say this because there are signs posted there saying not to climb on the rocks. I don't really pay them any attention when it's just me or 2-3 of us practicing, but when we have around 10-15 guys it tends to draw more of a crowd.

I touched on it above...but the likelihood of someone getting hurt on those rocks is MUCH higher with all of the holes and dropoffs. Think about the judges needing to keep up with the drivers... I know this isn't what you wanted to hear...but we really can't hold an SCRCC event on those rocks.

There are new lines on the "old" rocks...just means the course builders need to be more creative

As much as I enjoy crawling on those rocks, I have to agree with Ryan. Those are much more difficult to move around on. There's not near enough room for spectators, judges and the driver and the opportunity for injury if you do happen to slip and fall is much greater. All that being said, the signs should probably be enough to keep us off of them in large groups and not ruffle the feathers of any of the officials of that area. And as a general rule, as an organized club we should always follow the rules of anywhere they allow us to comp. Just my O and it don't mean much.

Ryan (ittybitty) you just rained on my parade LOL so........here is what I did I talked to the officials thats over the parks of Greenvile and they are gonna blow some more rock out of the water falls and make us a HUGE rock crawling facility and setup restrooms and a concession stand for us! How aWeSoMe is that!!

OK seriously I don't care where we comp thats why proposed the idea on here to get everybody's input

Probably not...but remember the lady that sued McDonald's cuz she spilled her coffee...

This is why I say it's fine for a couple guys practicing, but when we are holding an SCRCC event we can't have that liability as a club. It might not be one of SCRCC that gets hurt...it could be any number of the random on lookers that gets bumped by a judge or driver...then they find out we're a club and they come after us...it sucks that's how it is these days...but it just is.

Don't take this the wrong way and its just my 2cents but, anytime Ive driven one of my rc trucks, I have yet to see "masses" of people to come look. Most people stand off the way and just look. As far a law suits.....Highly highly unlikely seeing how the reedy river falls has been there....well longer than us. Ive have yet to here about some lawsuit over the falls, and I see kids and parents playing there in the summer all the time. As far as the signs and officials being a big problem to us...also highly unlikely. Pretty much all they can says is "please leave" dont think they'll kick us out. You also stated about the lady at mcdonalds, she sued the company, and if someone ever does get hurt and im just winging it here and, I'm no lawyer, but I believe they would sue the city and not some little rc club(city has waaaaaayyyy more money than us). As far as the comp, I don't care were we have it, I'm with ya'll. But I don't believe we should treat the falls as ground zero at chernobyl

They could kick us out as a club that to many people there if there r signs that say no playing in Rock etc. They could tell us never to come back tueres not to many places for us to hold comps in sc getting kick out of one is nit a good thing.
