| CC BEC needed for Hitec 7955 and Tekin FX-R?
I am planning to get the Tekin FX-R ESC for my AX10, and will probably get a 3S Lipo at some point, too. My current servo seems to work OK for now, but I'd like to upgrade to a Hitec 7955 for even better steering response when I have more money. What advantage is there to using the CC BEC instead of the FXR 6V 3.0A BEC for this application? Edit: nevermind. I found the answer, which is a mixed bag: tekin fxr New BEEFED up FX-R? tekin fx-r or castle sidewinder w/ external bec Last edited by XPLORx4; 08-28-2008 at 05:10 PM. |

It should work fine with the one servo. However, if you add in another servo for a DIG it may tax the ESC enough. I installed a CC BEC with my FX-R Pro, 7955 and 5625 for DIG and have no problems. Probably wouldn't have any before too. It is nice that the BEC delivers a good solid 6V to the Rx and servos since both servos are digital and can pull a little more juice especially when the wheels bind up. |

You need a bec. When you up the voltage to 3S you will lose some amperage on the bec. |

| FX-R and a 3s lipo
I have three of these speed controls I like the way they work, EXCEPT the BEC is needed or you will be very unhappy with the way it works. The internal BEC is not strong enough to keep up. ANY tough spots and it will max out and you will have to wait a second or five seconds before it goes again. You can try it without and if does not perform well get the Bec.
