| What servo do you run and why
Reason i ask is this.... I run JR servo's but been thinking of changing to a different MFG. here is why: i have 2 DS 8711's and 2 9100T's all which have been in for warranty at least twice... get them in any kind of stall for a second or two ( and everybody does, i hope, and its not just me ) and they overheat, then from there its downhill, a couple more quick stalls and they will shutter and shake and glitch like.. then too late they are done... now JR has been good about fixing them or replacing them. it just seems like when i get one back from repair, its time to send another one in... anyone else having this proplem???? thanx |

i use the jr 8711 aswell for steering. if there is some pressure on the wheels, yes, it will chatter just a bit but nothing too bad. i run it because of the speed and it has so much torque |

I use a JR9100t and love it. I bought it used out of a crawler, used it in my 1/8th truggy, then buggy, then my t4 for a week, and has been in my crawlers for a year. I have bound it up so bad it overheated and wouldn't work until it cooled down. Its still going strong, no issues. I kinda wish it would go out so I would have an excuse to get the 8711HV, lol. Let me also say, I have a hitec 5955, 5645, 645, and another one I cant remeber right now that all have to be sent in for repair, food for thought.

yes, i have the cc bec soldered in set at 6V. has about 403 OZ or torque at 6v, i think any more would fry it. but i still get humming aswell, i think it is just the servo itself |

I run Hitec 7955. Had the same issue with binding it up and it cooked and almost burnt up my lipo. I sent it back and they replaced it no questions asked. They told me to get a servo programmer and set the overload protection. Ever since I did that I have had no issues at all. Well worth the $25.

In my Berg I have an Ace 1015. 200in/oz of torque and .105 for speed. Plenty strong from what I found, and it's pretty old as well. It's been in two 1/8th buggies and 2 crawlers. The thing is 4 or 5 years old and still kicking. In my Losi I have the Futaba 9156. I have been using Futaba servo's for the last couple of years and have been very happy with them. I have never fried one but I had one that I had to change the gear set in because it was kinda sloppy. |

I have been running the 2 of the Hobbico CS-170's for over a year without problem. I run them with a CCBEC programmed at 6V.

I am off work 28 days at a time. So between me and my 8 yr old we beat the hell out of them. I dont know your whole setup but something i would suggest is back out your end points 5% if you are running something like a spektrum radio. If you have dig on your rig 5% doesnt kill your turning but will help your servos. Just a thought!! I have had mine in binds where the rear of the rig is swinging around and they are still going strong. Maybe just lucky!!! Last edited by rottenbelly; 08-08-2009 at 06:11 PM. |

I have a HT 7955tg in almost all my vehicles and never had a problem with any of them. I just recently bought the Futaba 9157 because it has 420 oz torque at 6 volt. I set my BEC at 6.1 because I found that at 6 it was actually running 5.7 |

I'm using the towerpro mg995. 202oz and I can get 2 for 25 bucks. I've been using one now for a while and my comp tuber is a heavy pig and it steers easily.

I have also burned out a jr9000t and 9100t. My current 8711 is starting the shake. I have a 8611 in my basher that is holding up so far. I pulled a cs170 out of my crawler for really no good reason and have been running it in my revo without problems. I have a used 7955 as a backup and while it doesn't seem to have the torque of the jrs it has been trouble free. I just ordered a futaba S9157 to try. I think I'm about done with jr too. And yes I run becs in everything @6v and set epa.
