And disconnect red wire coming from esc at the receiver. Don't forget to swap to higher voltage capacitors on your fxr's.

so to the people running 4s on the fxr, what did you set the voltage cutoff to?

it should be around 13.2 right?

with the hotwire i can only get the setting to go to 12.

what am i missing?

thanks!!

Sweet!

My Wraith is a blast on 3s 40C with Traxxas Titan 21T 550 motor, and 13/56 32 pitch gearing!!! I'm getting the itch to drop to 12/56 gearing and up to 4s 40C...not sure my driveshafts and gears will like it though.

EDIT" Yes I'm running external CC BEC.

Your titan motor is not going to like 4s. It will take it, but it will not last long. The brushes are not serviceable, and they will not last. But it will be fun while it does, and at $23 a pop, the motors are cheap enough.

LOL, I was afraid of that but I'm really loving the torque and wheelspeed lol....makes me giggle uncontrollably... Yes, I knew about the brushes but they are harder compound than most serviceable types...any idea how long it would last? What motor would you recommend that will last and have powder like the Titan 21T?

I would stick with the titan motor, just expect to replace it. How long it lasts really depends on the luck of the draw. Brood makes 550 motor and it is priced well, but I have not ran one, or even seen one run so I cannot speak to that motor itself ( no specs on the page, maybe EddieO will chime in). I can only speak to the incredible performance of Broods other products and, IMO, if he is willing to put his name on it, it must be a decent product.

Thanks, that looks like the old Kyosho Magnetic Mayhem motors that had forward and reverse rotation versions...great motors! Still got one used somewheres. Also similar were the Kyosho Lemans PT 360 and ST 360, one had bushings and the other had bearings...also great motors. Looking into the Brood 550 motor!

It's not the brushes on the Titan motors that are the problem in my experience with four of those motors. It's the brush springs bending and failing. They're bent tabs, and they get too bent and warped or snap apart and don't work anymore. And that was on 3S lipo.

Thanks, they probably overheated the springy tabs that the brushes are attached to and lost their tension, then it arced more, got hotter and melted down?

Thanks guys , I noticed the Tekin 1000uf cap is still 16 volt where as the one from CI is 25 volt. The 4s are 14.8 volt, pretty close, maybe the 1800 uf would be a better choice at 25 volts.

Yes, better to have a little more capacitor than you need. When they get overheated they burn up and or pop. Just replaced a motherboard in computer last week with several burnt and puffed caps lol.
