I'm looking for an affordable radio for my Sons AX10. I've been trying to decide on whether I should get the TQ4 or the 3PL. They are both around the same price. Which one would you guys recommend? As of now he's only going to be using 2 Ch but eventually might expand into using a Winch and definitely lights (that's what amazes him). Thanks |

If they are the same price I would go with the 3PL. A traxxas Radio Vs a Futaba Radio....Futaba all the way. |

Well if you can find a DX3 for a decent price, I have one I am thinking about selling, they are pretty good and would be good for your son.

Both are nice choices. You should see which one "feels" better for your son. Either can handle the lights, neither can handle the winch as is. On the TQ4, you could add one of my adapters in the future to turn the 4th channel into 3-True-Positions for the winch (you could have both lights and a winch).

My son is 9. He has a Losi MRC with that same radio. But now I bought him a Ax10. I think I'm going to find me a RX for the Losi radio and use that for now. Save $ for my 4PL ![]() ![]() |

1. use the same rx in the mrc ans ax10 2. rebind the radio to wichever truck you are going to be driving each time. You can easily find these tx used for 30 shipped if you keep an eye out. | |

A good radio is Spektrum DX3E, too. It has no memory for different models, but it has a 3 position AUX channel and is 2.4GHz (small antenna).

just buy another RX losi or spektrum surface RX. as long as it isnt dsm2. i used to use the same radio for 5 cars. i bound all 5 RX's to the same radio. alls u have to do to switch to the next car/rig is to turn off the one u were using and turn on the one you want to use then set your trims. no rebinding is needed. and maybe reverses (steering/throttle)

I have an extra receiver for the losi. Im going to try it out. If it becomes annoying to be binding each time I use either then I'll buy a new radio.

+1 for the flysky 2.4 gig radios from hobbypartz. I bought one for my new crawler and it works great, no glitches, seems have great batt. life. For 25$ & free shipping you can go wrong. Just wish they had a 3 channel non comp. radio that I could mod. for a winch.
