Default what highest C rating 2S LiPo using 55T motor?

..so, I now know that the current traxxas XL-5 can only go as high as a 2S LiPo battery...what I don't know is that, what is the highest C rating I can buy using a 55T motor?.....on the other end of the spectrum, what is the lowest C rating that I can run safely?

..a section taken from the traxxas website for the XL-5 esc:
- peak current - forward - 100A
- peak current - reverse - 60A
- braking current - 60A
- continuous current - 14A

..within the same topic, what if I decide to run a lower turn 540 sized motor, going down to 45T, then to 27T, then all the way down to 15T, what is the highest C rating 2S LiPo battery can I use for each of those motors? And, what is the lowest C rating batteries can I use safely for those motors?

Thanks in advance.

You can use any C rated battery. The ESC only cares about the voltage going in and a 2S battery at full charge is 8.4 volts regardless of the discharge rating which is more of a marketing gimmick for any claims over 50C.

Typically, 25C is plenty, unless you're hardcore racing then something higher is needed. All the ESC worries about is how many volts it's getting from the battery pack. The amperage numbers spec'd for an ESC is what it is capable of handling in a loaded situation.

The highest C rating you can run depends solely on your wallet. Buy as high as you wanna buy.

Minimum C will depend on what mAh you finally settle on. The more mAh you run, the less C you'll need. With smaller mAh batts, you'll need more C.

I doubt very seriously your Honcho (was it?), will get anywhere near the amperages you've got listed, especially with 55 turns. Even if you dropped all the way to 15 turn (540) or 12 turn (550), I still don't think you'd draw that much. (Remember those ratings are for that ESC in a Slash/Rusty/Pede, they're usually geared higher and don't have axles w/roughly 3:1 ring & pinions in them.)

If this were my money we were gambling with, I probably go 3000mAh/ 30C. I think that'd be enough for 55, 45, and probably 35 turns. Might not even need that much.

I would hazard a guess around at least 45mins-1hr. I get around 1-1.5hrs out of a 2200mah 3s with a 40t motor.

depending on your driving style you could get 1hr to 2hrs easy and that battery will be good down to the 15t you were wondering about, since i run a 3300 35c in my castle powered stampede
