Default Gens Ace 5000mah 4s Balancing Issues?

I ordered up a pair of Gens Ace 5000mah 4s lipos for my RC8Be

First battery for some reason couldn't hold any charge. Reading was at 0.00V for the first cell and would bump back and forth from 0.00V to ~2.00V then ~3.00V and sudden drop to 0.00V. Ran it in the buggy after a 10 min charge in NiMH mode now it charges fine and balances fine.

Second battery had no issues until I fully balanced charged it then used lipo discharge then after going to lipo storage mode it won't stop at 3.80V/cell it will stay at 3.91V across all cells and will only stop when the timer on my Hitec X1 engages.

I haven't ran any of these packs on the ground with the buggy. Is this because these lipos are new and haven't been broken in yet?

I never ran them (Gens Ace), but LiPO's really don't need to be "broken-in" like NiCD or NiMH wanted to be cycled for full performance when new.

The low volt cell sounds more like a bad connection either at the balance plug or where the balance wire goes to the actual cell.
