| what is the fastest, most durable brushed motor, running 3S LiPo, on AE-2 esc?
I am in search for having as much speed as I can put into my Honcho kit with the Axial AE-2 esc. It currently has an Axial 27T motor. I would like to run 3S LiPo batteries. What is the fastest, and more importantly, most durable brushed motor I can purchase, running 3S, w/ AE-2?

From what I've read, 3S is not recommended for the AE-2, but it should handle it. Just be careful with the low-voltage-cutoff. As far as the motor, I would stick with a 35t-45t motor to keep the strain on the ESC to a minimum. Hope that helps. Fink |

Axial lists the motor limit on the ESC at 19t although I dont know how long the ESC would last on 3s and a 19t motor. I would probably go for a handwound 35t from Br00d or Holmes Hobbies. That should be a good balance of speed vs. torque so you will still be able to crawl and have a bit of wheelspeed. If you really want more speed you could swap over to a summit 2 speed trans. Quote:
