| castle creations mamba max pro problem
I have a Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro with a Punkrc dig going to 2 brushed motors on my xr10. I calibrated the esc for throttle, but I get no power to my motors. I read that the esc may be set to brushless from the factory. I have a 5 channel Traxxas link 2.4ghz receiver and 4 channel controller Help! Last edited by mikedengineer; 03-31-2012 at 04:33 PM. Dude, from a "senior field service tech" to an "engineer", spell the product correctly so others can find the thread. It's a, "Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro" This is general info.... Castle Creations | FAQ: 1/10th Scale Products This is a bit more specific.... http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...s_ed_guide.pdf A Castle Link is a great thing to invest in....you can also program CC BEC's with the same set-up. BTW, I would do a servo dig before a Punkdig......Dual ESC's is even better (since I had a single CC ESC with servo dig then changed to dual CC ESC's.....) |

Thanks for the help. I changed my typo. I now can only get 1 motor to turn on. I went into the esc with the computer program from Castle and changed the motor to brushed. Thanks for your suggestion on the dig control. I will probably go that route in the future. |

on the punk dig, make sure the three wires that are soldered on to the board and go to the reciever plug are in good shape. they tend to break off the board. a little hot glue on them will help hold them. now that you got the mmp set to brushed your only getting power to one motor? the esc shouldn't have anything to do with that. maybe a radio setting (maybe you have the dig ON), or even a wiring issue.

While I'm not trying to be a PITA, I usually do so...... For the motor that is not turning....do you know it works? You can always do some jumpers from a pack direct to the motor to see if the motor is good. Nice ideas hoghead...... |

which punk dig do you have the 2d or 3d? it should be printed on the top of the board. if you have the 3d that is the 3 position dig, does your radio have a 3 position 3rd channel? if not you have the wrong punk dig.

Changed the title. Thanks. The traxxas link says it's 4th & 5th channel is 3 position. I have the model 2240. http://traxxas.com/sites/default/fil...24GHz-INST.pdf The 3d punkrc had deans soldered on, but was never used. Last edited by mikedengineer; 03-31-2012 at 04:53 PM. |

Compare the Procedure to the Standard, then confirm the Work Instruction for compliance. Better late than never! Right? S

It's looking like I cannot control the Punkrc with a 4 channel Traxxas Link 2.4ghz. That SUCKS!!!! |

I just figured it out. On the third channel there is a switch by my thumb that is on or off. This switches the dig between front and rear drive. If I hold it in the center which does both at once it goes into 4wd!!! So I took it appart. Moved some wires and now the toggle switch switches between front and awd and the tumb switch does rear wheel. I'll expain in my write up which I'll do when I get some time. In the mean time I'm going to get some rest and rip it up tomorrow. I couldn't have done it without you guys. Thanks!!! |
