Need help with 4ch radio and winch

Hello everybody I'm installing a dynam 4 ch 2.4 radio i have. It has a safety switch for the gas so i was thinking about using that channel for the winch so I wouldn't run it by mistake. I tried it out today and when I flip the switch to kill the winch it starts running by its self. I tried pushing the button on the winch control unit and it stop the winch for a few sec and it started running it self again any help would be great.

I have to believe your "gas switch" is a 2 position switch, most winches want a 3 position switch.

If so, look up "HeyOK" as I believe he makes a winch controller for a 2 position switch TX.

so could i swap out the safety toggle for a 3 way? or would i need a new control unit?

ok maybe this will help a little i took this radio from a plane the safety switch is flipped off it brings the gas back to 0 and kills control to the channel. well when i hook up the winch and flip the toggle it 0 the gas but its really telling the winch to pull in i guess. all I'm trying to do is set it up to a channel that i can kill so I don't run the winch by mistake

I dont think that will work becasue 0 is technically -100% when viewed from the winch point of view.

yeah i got that now. so anybody know if you can add a toggle switch to a channel to turn it off?
