Default Fitec waterproof servos?

Has anyone tried Fitec servos?

I was about the buy a Hitec HS-5646WP servo when I spotted they have a waterproof model as well.

Fitec RC Model professional Servo FOR RC HOBBY
They claim that their entire line of standard size of digital servos are waterproof.

I did the whole thing of trying the TowerPros a couple years ago and of course got burned. So I have stuck with Hitec since.

Lots of them on Ebay around the $35 mark.

I have one of the 5646wp. It's a great scaler servo. Why chance it for 10 bucks? I bought a couple tower hobbies servos that are advertised a 208 oz. the 5646 is rated 180 oz and there is a nite and day difference. Those tower pros are glitchy and weak. Plus I put 7 volts to it and let the smoke out yesterday! In my opinion go for the hitec. I might be wrong if you go the other way post up a review

Fitec servo
Considering their signature contains a fitec related email address I suspect someone is trying to publicise their products.

Pete.

Run only HS645MG's and I dont waterproof them. Their very water resistant, but not proof, probably only failed me twice in 5yrs of scaling in water, now I dont submerge whole truck but will drive windshield deep multiple times a day(servo definitly under).
I have best luck running them face down, my failures have been face forward,
run good hour dry(servo good n warm) then hit the water. It would center, turn right but no left. Sat for a day then fine. Imagine their waterproof's are submarine quality...

Yeah, I pegged him as a spammer with the 1st post but stated "let's see" when I reported the post.

I still say it's a borderline seller/spammer issue.

BTW, the name sounds like "HiTec", the servo looks like a Futaba HT servo. I guess a double knock-off.

Not sure what you're asking.
Yes, that is my signature. I'm not selling anything, I use the brands in my signature and am happy with them.

If you want to send some out to test PM me and I will get you my address. But I will not hold anything back. If they are great, that will be the answer I give, if they are bad, I will pass on the info.

We are always looking for a good lower priced servo. I tend to run Hitec, but have been running cheap EXi servos in my short course trucks for years with great results.

On a side note, this website requires companies to buy a vendor star to promote their products.

it's the "strong wind" that's been rolling around - must be chili day on RCC.

Fitec is like Hitec, except terrible, probably.

I think the point Charlie was trying to make was that, other than a satisfied customer he has no links to the companies he has listed in his signature.

Where as your (now removed I notice) signature implied by the use of a Fitec email address that you have a direct link to Fitec which led to the suspicion that you therefore worked for Fitec and were promoting their products in a way that contradicts the forum rules, I believe.

If this is not the case then sorry for the misunderstanding and welcome to the forum .

However, I still stand by my original statement .

Pete.

Well put, this thread was not worth a lot of my time. Reading a few posts "seemed to indicate" a likely spammer, but I wanted to wait & see.

Yes, I get some "consideration" from the 2 companies in my sig, but I still call a spade a spade.

Seeing that the brand name used is VERY similar to a well liked crawler servo & the case looks a LOT like a Futaba hi-torque servo, I just shuddered to think what was likely going on.

Hey strongwind, I do "3rd party" testing in an unbiased manner, send me a servo (similar to a HiTec 7950) and I will give my opinion.
