2012-07-02_21-14-56_732.mp4 video by aebstract - Photobucket

Okay I resoldered up the wires and hooked everything back up. Made a short video of it running.

At the beginning when it twitches I didn't give it any input from the controller, it just did it on its own. The beginning I go in to full throttle and then full reverse. Then I give it some short throttle bursts. I'm not sure if its suppose to have the spark or not on the inside but I filmed so you could see it in case. At the end when I set it down it does the twitch again.. no input, so I picked it up real quick. After I turned the camera off it did it again from my hand and popped out of my hand it was so strong. I yanked the battery at that point.

I don't see score marks on the arm, that's good.
The "dust" may be carbon from the brushes, but it's not magnetic, so I'm curious of some of what I see inside the endbell.

edit.....the arcing is usually normal from brushed motors, likely not an issue.
Since the "rig jumped", I would try & recalibrate the ESC to the RX.

uhggg... I'm pretty upset. I just went to plug the battery in to the esc and it sparked bad and started to smoke. Unhooked the motor and the receiver and tried again and it flamed up and almost caught on fire. :( There goes one damn esc :( What would cause that to happen? I don't understand anything that should have caused that? Battery issue?

Could all of my issues been stemming from a bad esc issue? Could the esc have been bad before I got it? This really really sucks :(

Did you plug the battery into the motor leads on the ESC??

No I plugged it in right, the motor was still plugged in from when I made the video. After your last suggestion all I did was plug the battery back in. that's when it started to smoke, then I unplugged the motor completely and just touched the battery connections and it flamed. :/
