Default Novak m2 motor diodes

Hey guys, going to wire my m2 up to my 45t Rockstar motors today. I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for. My question is this, in the manual it says to instal the diodes if needed. My experience is with brushless motors and I'm not sure if the diodes will be needed? Thanks for any insight.

Jay.

If you are using a 2.4ghz radio, I would not worry about installing any caps, though I think the rockstar has built in caps...not sure why they are calling the diodes...

Yep, most likely caps. Most newer brushed motors have small SMD (surface mount device) caps on a PC board near the brushes.
Not like the older caps we used to use.
They don't hurt any radio, they can help AM or FM radios by killing off arc noise off the brushes.

Those are capacitors to reduce motor noise (EMF) so it minimizes radio interference. As stated above, 2.4GHz isn't bothered by EMF as much as AM radios.

Diodes usually are one way gates for the electric flow, they pop when reversed.
