Sometimes the controller fails. Since the winch consists of two major parts, we can do a little trouble shooting. Unplug the motor from the controller. Feed six volts into the winch and the winch should turn. Reverse the polarity and it will turn the other way. If indeed this works, we can assume the controller is broken and the winch is fine. If the winch didn't operate when powered by six volts, then that's your problem Since it is so new, it might be worth a trip back to the hobby shop to see if they will replace it for you. Or, if the controller is faulty, you can replace it with one that I make. The idea is to get a voltage onto the winch motor. See where I have the winch controller next to the connector on the winch? You need to find a way to get 6 volts into there. Can you find a way to do that? If it were me, I would take a servo connector and use it to get the power from a receiver and feed it into that connector. If you are not comfortable doing this, please don't. Have a friend that has more experience with this kind of thing help you. Last edited by heyok; 10-04-2012 at 09:03 PM. |

Contact RC4WD..... I had a similar issue and have had awesome customer service with them. That would be my advice since it doesn't seem you are to sure about conducting tests on the equipment. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note (Phablet) |
