Default Power HD servos

Any good? Just picked up the 1218TH for cheap. Wondering if anyone had any experience with them. 291oz for $40 seemed too good to pass up...

Comes in an awful fancy box. That has to account for something.

Yes it does. That box also says that it has a 2 year warranty.

Not sure what horn fits it. I've got nothing to put it in at the moment other than some go-fasts. They would hardly be a good test vehicle for a 300oz servo. It'll most likely sit in its fancy box for a few months until I can get another rig built.

They were sold out about an hour after I placed my order on Wednesday.

I received one in trade awhile ago. The main (large gear) had the same issue some of the other Ti servo china gears did. The pins that hold the 2 piece gear together is not enough. I wish i could find the link to the thread where an Aussie guy put hardened drill bits in it.

bunch of us are using the 1501MG's in our mini crawlers with great results and been using futaba horns. these are a little stronger and faster than the hitec hs-645's.

My only experience is with the 1501MG, and that doesn't quite hold up to specs.
The torque figure provided is holding torque, which the servo is able to hold still against.
The stall torque, which is the limit at which the servo is (almost) able to move, is waayy lower.
The numbers given by the manyfacturer are (somewhat) accurate only when the servo is fed straight from a fully charged battery of the given nominal voltage of course, so the 6.0V values are representative for a ~7V feed.

Finally got to try the servo out. Good torque and speed, but a bit noisy on center. I'm wondering if maybe my voltage is a little low (technically a high voltage servo) and I need to bump it up over 6v with a bec...

Otherwise, I think it'll do the job just fine.

What do you mean "the same wiring"? I've bought several servos with that same color code. IMO that is a good thing. Standardization keeps the confusion down.

There are a few that use the JR style plug. If it looks that close, it was probably made by the same company that makes them for JR.
