| Burnt ESC
Well burnt another ESC. Installed a castle bec on my tekin fxr and a 11.1 lipo. Ran it for a couple of days. Backed it off a little drop about 12" tall. Up it smoke it went. Ran over pulled the battery off. Checked it out ESC fried nothing else burned. So I installed another tekin fsr today. Before I plugged it in I made sure no wires were touching and all connections were correct. Plugged it in and smoked again. What could it be nothing else is burnt. How could I check my bec rx and servo.

What do you mean by "Installed a castle bec on my tekin fxr"? A CC Bec is an external power source for a peripheral component...usually servos in the car game. It's completely separate from the ESC.

When you wired the BEC in, did you run it through the RX, or direct to the servo. If you ran it through the RX, did you remove the red wire from the ESC connection? Layton |

The cable that goes from the fxr esc to the radio reciever (red, white, black wires). You need to remove the red wire from the plug so it does not go from the esc to the radio receiver. You can remove it from the plug. Pretty self explanitory when you look at it. Pull up on the plastic tab that holds the red wires pin in the connector and it will pull out. Then just tape it over, etc so it won't short on anything. What is happening is the bec "and" the esc(fxr) are sending power to the radio receiver. The bec is back feeding into the esc (fxr) and hurting it. That red wire you will be removing is what powers the radio receiver and servos normally. but when you add an external bec, you need to remove it or you will have the issue that you are having.
