Sounds like a combination of motor timing & clod stall.

Set both motor timing to "0" and see what happens. We can go from there.

Do both motors have similar runtime on them?

i havent even touched the timming on the motors, so its what ever they are set to from integy. also both motors are brand new and this is the first time ive used it.

is there anyway to get rid of the clod stall?

If the Clod is a MOA, then one motor spins "forward" and the other spins "backwards" so the truck works correctly.
Most motors come with some timing in them. If you order from Br00d or Holmes & state they will be used in a MOA, then they will correctly set the timing & mark them as "front" & "rear".

Since I'm assuming you just "ordered 2 motors", they are both timed the same way, thus one is advanced & one is retarded.

If these are "sealed can motors", you really can't change the timing.

As to "fixing" clod stall. Best way is dual ESC's & a radio that can do throttle mixing/proportional. A hacked GT3B can do this as can others.
A "cheap fix" for a simple radio is to run different sized pinions front & rear. Not the best solution, but it helps some.

ok ill probably pick up a 4pl in a few weeks to use for my crawlers

i swaped out the dx3c for an am traxxas tq radio. ironically a cheap am radio isnt having as big of an issue. the only complaint is that occasionally when its in front of my home theater, there is some kind of interferance. im also listening to fm radio when this is happening.
