Sounds like you just need to reprogram you esc?

ya i was thinking this but i can't find that in the manual.

i should state that i'm using AR60 axles now and was using SXC10 before.
i think i may be onto something?

I'm on an iPad but that should be very similar to what your esc should do. Try going threw the steps and seeing what it does.

so I flipped the gears in the diff. and whola is drive forward faster now.

new problem
it dosent always go into reverse now. only like every 5th time or so.
any suggestions

Does a double tap put it into reverse? sounds like programming, as mentioned before. It sounds like it's set up in reverse trigger to brake mode. like an XL-5

not always.
sometime i can flick to to or 3 times before it goes in, some times it never reve.

It's programming.. I remember my slash use to do a bunch of random stuff when I didn't program it and I just wanted to run it. Just try setting it up

It's a pain in the butt to program without a castle link. Try to follow the instructions as best you can, but it's a lot of beeping and swearing.

or so after running through the programming. what a pain.
turns out its my TX. the throttle was not always returning to neutral.
when I wiggled it the yellow light comes on in the esc.
