Default reciever question

I have used the search button but couldn't find what I was looking for.
My question I wired up my new novak eiger with 35t motor. I have check the wiring over and over. My issue is when I plug the esc plug into reciever the throttle will not work. When I plug it into the servo port it works fine with the steering wheel. Does this mean my reciever is messed up. I wouldn't mind an excuse to buy a new one just want to make sure.

Did you calibrate the ESC to the RX in the correct RX port????

It's the 1st thing to do.

Most ESC calibrations are:
Throttle trims (including subtrims) to "0"
Throttle EPA's to "100%"
Futaba radios need to have the throttle channel set to "reverse".

What, if anything, does the ESC tell you??

The red light stays solid which has you check the wiring. I plugged the servo inyi the throttle it doesn't work. Throttle in the servo works

I don't have another reciever or I would test it. I was able to program the esc with the throttle wire in the steering slot and the servo was plugged into the throttle slot. The esc programmed so my throttle was controlled by my steering wheel. And the steering didn't work. Makes me think it is the throttle port on the reciever. Gonna take it to the hobby shop tommorow and use one of his recievers to test it out. Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it.

It could also be a bad pot on the throttle in the TX. Trying a different RX will help you figure it out.

Which Futaba radio??

If a 4PL, hopefully it's been updated for "crawler use".

If it's "new stock", it likely is. If not, I believe it's a free update other than time & shipping.
