Default Dirty switch mod on my GT3C Fly Sky...

So I finally got tired of the dreaded power switch cutout on my GT3C today and decided to put a more permanent switch on it for safety sake. If you all are interested, I can pop it apart and take more pics of it too.

Just a down and dirty mod to keep this little radio going until I can upgrade to a 4 channel. This radio is great. I've had no other problems with it outside of the switch problem.

I'll break it down tomorrow and post pics of the install. I just hated having the radio cut off in the middle of turning the wheel.

Agreed. Feel free to post your mod pics here.

I also noticed that my battery indicator is much more stable since the mod too!

Here's mine for the day during the comp when it went...

And here's the permanent one that wasn't intended to be permanent but hasn't failed me yet. Plan was to put it on the back of the steering assembly so as not to be turned on by accident. Switch is from an fxr that was deleted.

What causes the factory setup to cut out?

The power switch rotates with the steering wheel, with no relief on the wires they eventually break off... sometimes. Some have issues, some don't. Mine broke off at the most opportune time, past gate 5 of a 10 gate course.

I just put a toggle switch behind the steering wheel, like this write up shows

GT3C Problem

I've got like 100 of these toggles just chilling in a parts bin (been there for over a year now i think...i should probably do a write up sometime soon and put them on my website. (It's a back burner project)

With the overall layout of the radio, buttons, etc. it may not work for my purposes. It has nothing to do with your flashable setup. I think that is a valuable tool.

There is no layout, you make it how you want. All keys can be mapped to different functions, for instance the dual rate switch on my radio is mapped to a channel for a winch.

Having throttle and winch functions in my left hand is nice while hooking up the pull pal with my right. Then having steering when I'm ready.

I understand that, but the radio layout isn't where I want it. Not the programmable part.
*edit* I May just send losikid my radio and have him custom built to suit my needs.

Mainly I want switches that surround the steering wheel, more grip switches, and a pot-style switch for another channel. If I could, I would change the whole look of the radio.

Here you go with the pictures of the mod i've done. The togle switch is in the back of the wheel, if you dont know it's there maybe you wont find it and in the position is installed it's almost imposible that you switch on or off the radio accidentally.
