| Axial SCX10 TR not running right. Need Help.
I have an axial SCX10 TR, I got the truck 2 years ago and everything is stock except for replacing the ESC once about a year ago and I just put a new Axial 27T motor in. I run a Speedpak 3300 mAh 8.4v 7 cell battery. Here's my problem, when I'm running the truck, (the battery is fully charged) I'd get to some rocks and/or pretty much any type of incline, and the truck would struggle and would not be able to make it through the obstacles. Could it be overloaded? I have the spare tire on the back, a tire wrench and a few hex keys. As for extra electronics, I have the head and tail lights that come with the stock truck. The battery itself is about a year and a half years old and not very heavily used. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be?

| Re: Axial SCX10 TR not running right. Need Help. +1. What pack connectors? A lot of RTR's have Tamiya connectors, known to fail over time thus losing power under load. Did the truck crawl OK before? Also, a 27T motor is a bit fast for crawling unless you change gearing a bit (larger spur or smaller pinion). |

No, the battery and the truck have a standard connector. The truck crawled just fine up until about a month ago.

Picture link... Pololu - Tamiya Connector Pack, Female Between a fast motor (low turns) and Tamiya connectors, you are likely losing power. Check the connector while running it, you may find it's warm under load. Last edited by Charlie-III; 08-31-2013 at 09:04 AM. | |

Also you didn't put the losi ten scte in your poll. That's the one I would say is the best, have raced all the rest and the losi is by far better.

First, ditch the tamiya style battery connectors in favor of deans style conectors. Second, ditch the nimh battery in favor of a lipo. Third, check the brushes and commutator.
