Default FlySky GR3F RX ?

So my GR3E failed...
and I intend to purchase some replacements.

I see that they now sell a GR3F model/version
and was wondering what makes that RX different ?

I've read that the "bind" port is relocated on the GR3F
but that shouldn't be of any issue unless one didn't notice.

My GR3E failed for no apparent reason.
Except possibly that I bumped up my CCBEC to 7.4v
And thought maybe the GR3E failed due to the higher voltage ?

I read that the GR3F allows for a higher battery voltage.
But only found one comment regarding this claim.

Does anyone know if that comment/claim of the GR3F
having higher voltage capability...
is true of false ?

F is supposed to have higher voltage capacity and better range. I have C, E, and F and they all seam about the same. I haven't tried high voltage of 7.4v through those. I'm more afraid of burning up the ESC than the RX.

welp

ordered two of the FS GR3-F RX's
so I'll see if those hold up any better then my GR3-E did.

One of the issues that I've read about...
is the antenna wire failing.

That it can crack anywhere along it's length
and then the RX fails to function/respond correctly.

Could be of fault of poor quality (brittle) chinese metal wire
used in the making of the RX's antenna.

^ I don't know that to be fact...
but most the crap I might get from china
seems to utilize lesser quality materials.

If I can locate a proper length/Dia. antenna wire to replace the original...
I might try that... just to see if there is any merit to that claim.

or... it could simply be...
that my GR3-E was just a bad apple

I've got the new version. Just got 2 from hobbypartz and they came waterproof! They work flawlessly for me so far. I run mine at 7.2 volts

I know. I didn't even know they made a WP version. But I've gotten it plenty wet with no additional waterproofing. Still kicking!

I started a thread with my "Discovery"

I've read that
the GR3-F now will handle up to 8.4v
and that the ant. wire was improved upon (not said how tho') ?

I've read a claim on an ebay listing that it was waterproof...
plus what's been stated here by others here.
but haven't been able to confirm that anywhere else.

guess I'll know more when I get them.

would be nice if they are

Just got one as well. Works good. Got 2 other rigs that use the same receivers. Not bad for 6 dollars... Haven't tried a winch with it yet. Soon enough I suppose.

Your old rx failed due to the high voltage

The new model works on the higher voltages, but i haven't tested this for an extended period of time. (Just an hour straight)...i don't run stock flysky 2.4Ghz so its abit hard for me to test out the new rx. I've been running FRsky 2.4Ghz technology for awhile, there's some kinks i haven't been able to iron out which is why i haven't offered a kit for it yet.
