Question Dual Motor ESC Motor priority?

I have a Maxstone 8 It has all the stock electronics besides a 5500 battery. my question is that when i crawl it seems to send more power to the wheels that are less restricted then the others that are not. ie. when the rears are gripping and the fronts are slipping it will just spin the fronts and not push with the rear. the stock ESC has the battery in wires and motor 1 and motor 2 wires. can i cross wire the motors (motor1 + motor2 - to one and motor2+ motor1- to the other) to make it power both front and rear at all times or just wire them all together as if its just one circut? i use it as fun for me and my son and dont want to spend money on a ESC cause im saving for a Axial for myself. does anyone have any other suggestions on how to get it to power both front and rear the same at all times?
