| Re: how high of a c rating do I need? im not sure, but most esc companies put their minimum requirement in the manual. if im not mistaken, castle requires a minimum of 30c on their mmp.

On that set up i would run anything 50c and over. Running to low c rating will obviously cause harm to battery but too high will just be more safe and net in longer lasting battery able to see higher loads. High loads, 2.2 tires, 2 servos, winch. I can easily bind up my c3 rig weighing in at 9.5 lbs and put a hurting on batteries quite quick. Remember if you are comping with c3 rig the terrain etc etc should max about everything on your rig...... Well atleast that's how we roll up here in Washington |

The mah rating is in direct correlation with the c rating to calculate the amperage output. So a lower mah battery/smaller will require a higher c rating, whereas a higher mah battery/larger and you may get away with a lesser c rating to achieve the same amp output. So the answer can be "It depends" and also, what has been said, buy the highest c rating you can afford. |

And we all know no ones trying to run anything over a 2200 mah in a comp rig due to size..... Placement ..... And weight. Easier to say said above ; That 2500 milliamp battery = to 2.5 amps ( obviously by dividingse 1000)then multiply your 2.5 amps by the 20c rating to get = 50 amps of continuous draw safely from battery. This is different than a burst c rating for x amount of time ..... Ususally 5 seconds. Last edited by JokersWild; 11-29-2014 at 03:00 PM. |
