| Where to buy potentiometer?
I have a hitec mg645 with busted potentiometer from using too long of a servo horn screw.

Best bet would be to send it in to hitec.

| Re: Where to buy potentiometer? Sadly, not so many locals round here. Any chance you'd like to send me one? The board may also be toast as it overheated when I plugged it in before I knew it was broken. PM me if you're interested.

I have a spare servo I was going to use for winch but didn't. Are potentiometers from different servos interchangeable? Can I for instance buy cheap servo and use it as potentiometer donor?

When you connect it, there is a chance you might get the wiring wrong. Most likely you will get the center wire in the right place but get the two outer wires in the wrong place. If this happens, the servo will slam all the way in one direction so be ready to unplug it in a hurry when you test it. Just put the wires back on on the opposite ends and you should be good. I have a bunch of servo circuits complete with pots - contact me if you need one.

Potentiometer form winch servo did not fit. There are reduction gears with output shaft. Some pics in my SCX10 thread. Will wait for suitable donor to try it again. |

| Re: Where to buy potentiometer? Although the value of the potentiometer is not important. You need to consider physical size and shaft style....also, the amount of range the pot has. (most pots are 270* in range. But I've seen 90*, 63*, 180* pots. Or you can get into multi-turn and continuous rotation. )
