Default Vanquish LED light bar - 6S

On my yeti XL, I just installed the 6" VP LED light bar. I know it can't support 6s, but it will work on 3s. I have a 20 amp CC BEC already which I use to power the fan and servo. I just tapped off that BEC output for these lights.

But...the lights aren't working. The voltage is set at 6v. I can bump it up to 7.4 and the servo 7950TH can handle it. Just wondering if there is a minimum voltage reauired. I have power to the lights. And the lights work when connected direct to a battery.

Thoughts?

Not sure about minimum volts, but it sounds like you need another bec, I had the same scenario when I put my BMRC if/rs wraith on 4s. I never did hook them up to a bec that was pushing 6v though, I just had a buddy lone me a CC bec pro that he wasn't using, and asked him to set it to 12v for my test.

You just reminded me I need to find my own bec that can output 12v.

I don't know if there is a minimum voltage required but anything less than 11V just does not create any appreciable light output. When I was setting up the light bar on my truck, less than straight 3S voltage was useless anywhere other than a completely dark room.

I guess I'll have to get a second BEC then just to run the lights. Ugh! Thanks for the info!

6" fits perfect for the YXL.

Why not just get a small 800mah jst connector 3s? Then put a 5$ lipo cutoff on it? That's how I run them.

How long a run time do you get out of that?

Like 2 hours. You can pick up the batteries on hk or somewhere like that for a few $ each. They are cheap.
