| Question on 3 racing winch.
I am interested in getting a winch for my crawler. I have been looking on eBay and came across 3 racing's winch. The listing says that there are two ways to control it. With a switch that I can buy and mount to the rig itself. Or a controller that will work with my three function transmitter. I can't seem to find the controller that will make it work with my transmitter. But I saw yeah racing has a winch controller that Looks like a key fob that locks automobiles. I was wondering if they would be compatible. Thanks a lot Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk |

How long did your son use it? My rig doesn't get much use. Its something to tinker with when wrestling isn't on. Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk |

I have the RC4WD Warn winch combined with the Heyok wireless controller. The Heyok controllers have an electronic "line hold" So that improves the scale looking winches spooling out due to a rig weighing in more then one might like. The servo winches usually have more gear reduction and so the Heyok "line hold" should be even stronger. The wireless controllers come with a remote fob (like a key fob). TX/RX controllers don't use a remote fob. Only thing is... the servo winches don't really look scale. I run my RC4WD Warn off a 3s LiPo 11.1v -12.6v ( LVC set to 3.7v per cell) And the Heyok wireless handles the 3s voltage/amp draw just fine. 3.7 LVC is less stressful on a LiPo batteries And some claim to run them down as low as 3.0v per cell I personally wouldn't set the LVC below 3.5v per cell. I recommend Heyok and their electronic products to everyone. You will find that user support is their top priority and the proprietor will answer any questions you may have. response to inquiry is prompt and courteous Heyok is a vendor here... so search that user name and ask questions. The Heyok controller should work fine using the 3 racing winches. But ask Heyok direct... rather then get mixed opinions. complimentary pictures... https://www.freewebstore.org/HeyOK-P..._15353011.aspx Last edited by TacoCrawler; 05-18-2016 at 08:34 PM. |

Decided to wait on the winch for now. But I was wondering, are the ax10 and the scx10 shocks the same length? My rig is a converted ax10 with a scx10 frame. Thanks. Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk |

I believe the SCX-10 shock length is 90 mm and the AX10 shock length is 73-103 mm the later is dependent as to which lower shock eye length is utilized. Might even be some internal/external spacers that can limit compression and extension. If I remember correctly... I believe my Wraith kit also came with extra parts to alter the original shock lengths. google is your best tool to find more information. ie: Axial Racing - Product Release – AX10 Scorpion RTC (AX90011) Axial Racing - SCX10 and... SCX10 shock question... |

oh and all that ^ said I run Traxxas 100mm shocks on my SCX-10 tho' that mm length would be the longest one should use on the SCX-10. I still use the stock Wraith shock on my Wraith custom 1/6 jeep tj build. I use the longest lower eye(s) so probably 103 mm would be my guess. I'd believe the Wraith as well the AX10 could utilize 110mm without much concern. Purdy much the AX10 and Wraith are the same I believe. Eventually I'll change my Wraith shocks to Traxxas BB's or maybe equal in diameter but longer then 100mm. The Axial Wraith shocks leak alot... even if they do work ok. But I feel 110mm would work better for me... and likely on the AX10 as well. Last edited by TacoCrawler; 05-19-2016 at 07:12 PM. |
