Price point the Mamba X and Mamba Monster X is very similar. I realize it is recommended for a bigger/heavier size rig. Does it deliver more power? Both ESC have aux tuning capability

I'm running my Mamba X with a brushed motor. I have the positive motor lead in "A" and the negative in "B". It seems to operate fine, but when I stop it beeps and I have idle beeps disable in the software. Does anybody know why it beeps?

Is your data log full? or is that beep disabled too?

Brushed Mode should use 'A' and 'C' not 'A' and 'B'.

You are probably getting an error beep, codes are on page 15 of the Drivers Ed Guide.

Nope. That beep was disabled as well.

Sorry, I meant A & C. I connected the ESC to my computer again, resent the settings to the ESC, this time while on the "Basic" tab and when I connected the ESC again the beeps had stopped. I'm not sure if the settings just didn't transfer properly the first time or something, but it's working like a charm now.

Robert, do you think the Micro X would be safe on an SCX10 II with a 35T brushed motor?

I honestly don't know much about brushed motor ratings. We don't have many brushed motors at our office other than a few stock Axial and Traxxas motors.

I can compare against other products though. The Holmes BR Mini has 8 MOSFETs. The Micro X has 6 but only uses 4 of them in brushed mode. The Micro-X also has a heatsink, which would help out. I see that Holmes rates the BR Mini as 30 amps continuous and 60 amps peak, so with half the MOSFETs and and heatsink, I would expect the Micro-X to do 20 amps continuous and 40 amps peak by JRH's ratings. You could use your Mamba X's datalogs to see how much current the motor was using.

the micro x would run a 35t on 3s just fine with reasonable stock gearing. 27t might run it ragged on 3s, it depends on the driver and terrain and if they threw 3 pounds of scale accessories on.

I run 2S mostly. Rarely do I run 3S. 35T motor currently with stock gearing.

I also just realized there are two version of the Micro X. So which one are we talking about and what are the differences - besides the soldering posts?

Castle's site lists the MAMBA MICRO X 12.6V ESC, 2A PEAK BEC W / POSTS and MAMBA MICRO X EXTREME 1:18 SCALE ESC

The one that has solder posts had larger wires and 4mm motor bullets instead of 3.5mm so that our 1/10th scale motors will plug into it. Other than that they are identical.

1900kv 3/4s only

2280kv quick on 3s, slow on 2s

2850kv fast on 3s, decent on 2s

Iv rn both the 2290kv and 2850kv on 3s with the microx without issue

I'd go 2850.

I'm running a Mamba X with 2850kv slate motor on stock bomber gearing (14T pinion 64T spur) and my Bomber is a fatty at 9.5LB, on 3s LiPo I've only seen motor tempts in the low 100's so far this spring.
The 2850kv is pretty darn fast in high gear 1:1, I have the SSD 2 speed kit, so it's got a nice 2.34:1 low gear for crawling. The Aux wire from the Mamba X is really nice to toggle drag brake/rock race mode for low and high gear! It's a must for any 2 speed crawl and bash setup.
I also run the BEC at 6v and have never had any brownout isseus with m Savos 1283 like I did with the axial esc.
