Default BEC as Light Controller With Remote Switch Questions

At the moment i have a good enough BEC in my ESC where i can run my servo and rx from it and never an issue.

I'm wanting to fit some LEDs onto my truck as well and want to use a spare cheap BEC i have as a light controlled @ 6v

Because there will be a lot of LEDs connected (8 in total ) i don't want them on all the time as it ill drain the battery quicker

I also have a remote switch that works off a chanel on the rx.

Does anyone know if i can use the on board BEC on my truck to keep powering the RX & servo and use the external BEC to only power the LEDs whilst using the remote switch?

When i've been looking at the remote switch it seems i can wire it up to do the lights fine, but the wiring diagram only shows me how to wire it up if the BEC is also used to power the RX which is powering the LEDs

A BEC is a BEC no matter if it's internal in the ESC or an external one. They're just voltage regulators. You could wire up a million of them to one battery.

Would this work for you?
Use your BEC to feed the external power input of this part:

Why not use the external bec for servo then run leds off rx and use your remote switch for on/off? That's how most people set it up.

Thats how I did it. External BEC for the servo at 7.4V and I used the ESC BEC to RX to power my LED's. I assigned it to the extra channel and used the buttons on my TX to turn them on/off. I also increased the ESC BEC from 5V to 6V but that was just personal preference.

I think i've got it sussed now.
The 2 red positives on the Turnigy switch threw me off as i'm used to a convention switch having a positive and negative but i wasn't picturing things correctly.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions and comments.

The on board BEC on my ESC is good enough for my needs just now (6v - 3amp constant). My external one i already own is cheap (about $5) If my external BEC goes, it might take out some cheap LEDs if i'm running 3s, rather than than more expensive radio and servo.

All has to be certain sizes to fit inside a certain sized custom waterproof box on my truck as well. It's fully submersible just now but trying to incorporate wiring from switching LEDs is a bit more tricky.
