Default Wraith acting jerky

I just got out my wraith that's been boxed up for the last 2 years. Put in a fully charged battery, and when I barely give it throttle it jolts. Can't crawl up a pile of firewood because it jerks around. Would this be a battery, receiver, esc, or motor problem? Everything is new, hardly used it when I built it. Holmes hobbies brushed motor, sidewinder3 esc, axial scorpion radio and receiver.

Even on flat ground I barely throttle and it starts off slow and steady and then jerks forward and then back to slow and so on and on

Sounds like it might be the ESC, but it could also be the receiver randomly telling the ESC to go full throttle. Pull the ESC cable from the receiver and swap the steering into it's spot. Pull the throttle and see what the servo does. If it works normal it's probably the ESC.

Ok got 2 brand new lipos and tried switching the servo and esc on the receiver. Now it steers perfectly fine with the throttle and does about 6 or 8 small hiccups and cuts out. I took a video on my phone but I don't know how to upload to a forum from my phone. I took it with Snapchat and saved the video. If anyone has snap chat or Instagram I can send a video real quick.

Basically when I made this thread the wraith would run but I would have to pull almost full throttle just to get it to go forward and it would jump forward then I could let off the throttle and feather it. Like a really long lag or stall if you lunch the gas on a carburated engine that's not tuned right. And now (almost 3 months later) I pulled the wraith out to try again and it just stutters for 2 or 3 seconds then cuts out. Stutters like a full auto machine gun. I recalibrated the esc. Sidewinder3 and castle link and Holmes hobbies 35t.

Ok I swapped the esc into my slash short course truck and it works fine. Could it be that the esc doesn't like the brushed motor? At first I forgot to hook up the white wire from the brushless motor onto the esc and it did the same stutter. But plugged the white white in and it works fine.

I tried 2 sidewinder esc's and both stuttered in the wraith with the brushed Holmes hobbies motor. And both worked fine in my slash with a castle brushless motor. I can't seem to find the castle link usb adapter since ive moved twice since using my RCs last.

Are you switching from brushless to brushed mode?

Looks like your ESC forgot it was set to brushed.

Brushed and brushless are totally different power methods. The ESC can only operate the type of motor it's set for.
