Default Control winch with transmitter potentiometer

Can I control an RC4WD winch, or any winch for that matter with a potentiometer knob on my modded gt3c. If not is there any use for those knobs at all.

The control in question has to have a channel attached/assigned to it. If it is like a DX5-series radio, where you can assign all of the switches to a channel, then you can. The other route is to direct-wire the switch in question to the channel you want to use. Not matter what, you need to have a spare channel open.

I make a variable speed winch controller that could make good use of that channel.
Have a look here if you are interested.
Variable Speed Winch Controller

You could use your linear channel on a normal three position channel type of winch controller too. With either one, keep in mind that it is key to be able to get it back to the center position as that is the position that stops the winch movement.
