Substitute for hw1080 and batt option

I went to order the hobbywing 1080 esc just now and out of stock at most places I've looked. Anyone have an alternative that's just as good. And not crazy priced either. Not looking for anything fancy. Just looking for a good bang for my buck for my trx4. Also in need of a couple 3s batteries. I'd like to go with shortys but I want something that's gonna last a while. Anybody have any input for suggestions that arent outrageously priced that you've used in a trx4. And it weighs just over 10 pounds if that's a factor at all. Thanks for any help!

Ima order one on ebay. I hadn't looked there until a little bit ago. I had only looked on some of the bigger rc sites I usually order from before I go to ebay. Guess I better order one tonight tho if theres no comparison! Gotta replace my xl5. I'm not sure if its the problem or not but I'm gonna replace it anyways and I really like the 1080 when I ran one a couple years back and sure seems like everyone likes it too.

Don't know of a good alternative, 1080 is the go to.

I ordered from that site and it got here today looks legit all factory wrapped and even has the holigram on the pkg. so far so good.

The Carisma ARC-2 ESC should be as equivalent to the 1080.

I've ordered two from this place already. Got my first one last week, and just ordered another one today. They were about the only place I could find that didn't want $50+ for one and was in the US.

If you are looking for good prices on batteries check out RCJUICE.com. they have a pretty decent selection of batteries and usually always have sales. The seller is in the US but I'm pretty sure all or most of the products are from overseas. They do carry an ESC that is similar to the hobbywing 1060.

The Hobbywing wp880 has the same programability as the 1080, except the bec voltage (which is fixed at 6v/4a) they're cheaper too since they don't include the program card (but they do use the same program card as the 1080.) They are a bit bigger, and they have 2 sets of motor leads, but you can run a single motor from an 880 just fine. Side bonus: the wp880 can run 4s.

Interesting. I thought the 880 had jumpers like the 1060. Good to know it can be programmed with the card. Thank you for the info.

I have a WP1080 in my Summit and it works well, I run a 20kg single servo for steering without issues. I'd have to go look but I want to say it also came with a fan.
