| Motors in the Enduro
I was thinking of trying a Holmes Hobbies 27T-35T Crawlmaster 540 for some water and mud action, or possibly an HH Torquemaster 35T 540 for general trail work. What are y'all running for motors? Does anyone know if a 550 can will fit? |

Well that's awesome. Is it a forward or reverse rotation motor to use then?

Anyone considered a HH Revolver? I know its not a sealed can so might need to skip the mud and water but for climbing...

Good question! I was wondering the same. I chose to stick with brushed since I decided to use an HW 1080 ESC. I wanted to try something different so I ordered-up a HH TorqueMaster Expert 540 in 35T. I also have a couple of extra 550 can HH Trailmaster Sports I'll give a try someday as well. |

It depends on which overdrive gears you choose. Just get a zero-degree advance motor and switch the leads to suit. The stock RTR electrics were setup for 1:1 gearing, but they decided to let it go with the 5.7:1 which is cool, but it reversed the output - they switched the radio, only that made the 70% forward throttle slant make reverse a jackrabbit. Switch the motor leads and the radio back to 'normal' and it's good to go. If you install then 12:1 ratio then normal again. A 550 Trailmaster in 27 or 35T would work great, depending on wheelspeed you're looking for. The Element doesn't have a lot of options for gearing down - plenty for gearing up. So I would go with a slower motor and adjust to suit. The guys are really liking the over/under drive setup - really benefits technical rock crawling.

| Re: Motors in the Enduro I'm running a revolver and S4. Power galore and still creeps great. Just beware the noise. It doesn't bother me but I know a lot of people scrapped theirs due to it... |

Don't forget, Team Asociated introduced a whole line of motors and battery packs too. I got a 3s 3k mah compact pack and it's really nice, a good value.

| Re: Motors in the Enduro +1 on the revolver and sidewinder 4. I actually have the devolver but find it Is great in my testing. I found I had to swap sides for the rx to have clearance for motor wires though.

I made a mount for the SW4/Enduro if anybody's interested in printing it. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3779300 |

Sounds like you lucked out. But I think you can loosen the end camp and revert the motor back to zero advance. Don't quote me on that - the realm of John Rob Holmes.

I will be picking up my Element kit next week and will build it as a C1 rig. I will be using the Mamba-X and looking for a good motor. How does the HH 1800kv outrunner do in this rig? I know it has gobs of torque, how much wheel speed does it produce? Is there a better motor for this rig?

I am using a yeah racing Hackmoto 35t motor. This is my first crawler so I don't have a ton of experience in different setups but I have drove a bunch of different models, mine isn't nearly as fast as some but it has some good torque. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk |

I just changed mine. Stock is reverse rotation for sure. I currently have a 15 turn motor in mine. (only adjustable timing motor I have atm) Still geared stock after 15 20 min of run time the motor does get warm. Im going to drop down to 17 tooth pinion to see if that helps.

I'll likely run a Mamba-X in mine, and will design up a mount for the Element similar to the Mamba-X mount I made for my TRX4 & TRX6. I have added bars on my mounts to give places to tidy up wires. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3952856 Untitled by Scott O, on Flickr Untitled by Scott O, on Flickr

Anyone experiencing this in the Enduro? It's an SW4 w/ 1800kv revolver. I've done different curves and settings in Castle Link but i can't seem to get rid of the "jump" 0:16 https://youtu.be/MXcdECigX2k . Start up is smooth but as power is applied no matter what curve i put there.. it just jumps. What am i missing? Current Castle Link settings: Punch Control 100% Torque Limit 1.8% (tried various settings) Motor timing Lowest (tried Med, high) Throttle curve 60/40 (tried others 70/30, 80/30, etc,.. linear) Any suggestions? TIA |
