Default My Trailrunner is shipped!

Amain says I'll take delivery next week.

I've already got a set of Pitbull 1.9" Rock Beasts on Pitbull 1.9" Raceline "Combat" wheels specifically for this rig, I hope they fit.

I've also ordered some Knight Customs pieces from Shapeways to make the grill look more like a 4Runner, and a few other bits and pieces like spoiler and taillights.

Electronics will probably get upgraded, but we'll see. I may take the Holmes Puller Pro 2200kv that is in my Capra. It's got IFS, that means I can bash it right??

Otherwise I have a HW 1080 looking for a home, but I'm not sure what brushed motor I would go for,. I think I need to figure out the gearing first.

Very cool! Jealous of everyone who has picked one up early. What size wheels and tires are those?

This is what I am planning on running. OD is 4.45", which should be close to a 40" on a 1:1, so I anticipate some trimming/lifting.

These are tires/wheels off the Marlin Crawler, they are 4.19 and they rub.

I知 not sure 4.45 tires will fit without some trimming.

Ty, good info. I figured as much on the fitment. For this truck, I am taking some inspiration from a Marlin as well - Big Mike's IFS Tacoma, actually, which is running 40x17s. I also intend to widen the stance up a bit, so I'll need to find some hubs, but I can't do much of anything until the rig gets here.

Congrats! The Enduro platform is a great truck!

I知 still waiting to pick up the Trailrunner. I have both the Sendero and Trailwalker and they are both great rigs.

Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for it.

I just found this pic of a 5th Gen 4Runner SAS'd and on 40" tires, figured I would drop it here for inspiration as well

Anyone know where I could find a tube bumper similar to this or the Marlin posted above? Or have one made?

Thanks for the info! I was thinking of going with the duratrac 1.55x4.19 or the 1.9x3.80. Guess I'll stick with the 3.80 or something in between.

I was really hoping the 4.19 would work. I tried my 4.45 rock beast, but they will rub for sure. oh well. I guess its good to have crawlers with small to tall tires and everything between

just FYI, shoe goo those friction mounted parts. I already lost two plastic stops for the rear bumper trim. I'll probably go with knights customs rear bumper trim, unless someone knows of a bumper with tire carrier that will fit nicely.

My trailrunner was missing the side mirrors upon arrival. I sent an email to AE and am awaiting their response.

I think 4.19 will work, they’ll just rub a bit.

I had the TR out for a crawl this weekend and the 1.7 Marlin Tires rubbed just a tiny bit at full articulation. Not enough to worry about though.

I found out real quick that the molded accessories fall off PDQ. I lost my rear bumper trim, a mirror, and a door handle on the first outing.

Luckily I was able to find them and they are now E6000’ed on.

The stock general 1.55 tires work fairly decent. I have run them from time to time on my trailwalker and I was surprised. The class 1 1.9 size 4.10 km3 bfg proline tires should work out fine for you.

That is really great reference material, thank you!

I also have some TRX4 Defender flares that I may try to fit, but I think I'm going to prefer it without flares. Maybe I'll post here for opinions.

Thank you both for the info.

I've been looking at the prolines, but I have SSDs with the brass rings I planned on using. I think I would need the proline inserts to work right?

I may just end up going with RC4WD milestar 1.9s as the extra brass weight should air down the tires enough for extra clearance.

Test fitting the Knight Customs spoiler, it already adds a lot of Toyotaishness to this body.

Anybody got a good idea on removing factory paint? Or should I wait for a clear TRunner body to fit the grill and taillight buckets?
