I was daydreaming about why nobody makes a “ar44 conversion kit” like SSD for the Enduro. Way way back when it first came out they were on this forum chatting about making a Pro44 housing for the platform...I guess the BTA steering is the deal breaker. But all you would need is a new c-hub design...seems like they are missing a big segment of the market, Enduro has gained a lot of traction especially with the HD Sendero coming out. And the Gatekeeper...maybe it’s a licensing thing or something. All anyone makes for those axles are diff covers and knuckles, maybe shafts I haven’t looked. If you Google Enduro axles the only thing that pops up is the $16.99 oem housing, and if you search “Pro44 on Element Enduro” you get a thread from like 2014 in this forum from Codyboy’s build. Just odd to me nobody has made that leap.

Funny you mention beef tubes, I was looking at their widened 44s as an ar60 alternative but the price was just a little high for this build. Plus if I run wide axles you know I’ll switch to 2.2s and then it’s a snowball effect as far as gearing, new wheels, yada yada.

I must say Phil, this may be the most entertaining thread I have been in for a long time. Your pace in unmatched.

Looks good dusty, looked good before too, but the dusty look suits it. Until you photograph playing in water and it still looks dusty

Look forward to seeing it as a monster truck!

So the AR44’s didn’t noticeably affect your throttle control/speeds?

If you didn’t tell me they were swapped I wouldn’t have noticed except turning radius decreased, probably the dog bone axles but I’m not an expert there...but yeah it’s still the same good old Enduro, just with different legs. Like a gymnast versus a power lifter lol.

So I did something I swore I’d never do...decided to make a scale garage of sorts. All out of scrap things. Some of the shelf brackets are out of scale, I’ll refine it as I go. No 3D printed things, just imagined tools and devices out of common objects. The big compressor is a jar. I will print signs, posters, labels and what not. I made it dirty like a working garage, not a checkerboard floor man cave. Tried to give it a sense of size.

Anyways, photo dumping...

Wow! That looks great!

Holy cow, tell me that’s not a 1.9 tire in the corner.

Here’s a pretty real looking shot. Hope is to use these to stage some cool shop photos. It is about 1/4 as detailed as it will eventually be, and about 1/100th as cluttered. Picture a garage in like Pakistan lol. I like the look. Will put hinges on the doors, make a bunch of fan belts, you get the idea.

Anyways forgot how fun this is. I used to make 1/24 static dioramas all the time.. this scale is easier.

Both trucks fit in it but making another storage area so they are only in the shop when being “worked on”

Nice work Phil! You 1/24 modelers always do some neat stuff!

My favorite part is the air compressor.

Oh yeah, don’t forget to make that one corner or shelf that has a bunch of random non-garage crap on it

I will piddle away at this thing, honestly glad I did it and should have sooner. Will keep me from painting my trucks once a week lol. I have to tinker it’s in my DNA or something.

First task will be to finish the wall on the right side once I get more scraps (my wife is a kitchen/bath designer and brings home all kinds of crap) and then make some faux windows above the roll up door. And chains/rails for the door. And...and...lol

This afternoon project: chop saw. Just stared at mine until I figured out how to make one out of scraps that looks good enough for this garage. Nothing built/fabricated, this is all random objects (may jar lid, washers, nuts/bolts). It is even plugged into an outlet under the bench.

I may make a drill press tonight. On my list are tubing bender, drill press, bearing press, media blasting cabinet, and a few rolling tool chests. Then I’ll get into small things like oil filters/rags/trash and tools.

The little sections of pipe are styrene. I will “make” some longer ones at some point, and a few with random bends like they were part of a project.

Went wheeling with home girl this morning. 2 packs each, legs are tired. Went to Hannah Park in Atlantic Beach FL. Huge mountain biking destination for north Florida.
