Yup, those element pin tires are doing the body any favors. They are more suited for bogging, something the FJ Cruiser is not so much

That new ifs setup looks much better already… Hard pass on the body. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Tons of dislike on the body. Think it's mostly because it's not a common FJ, 99% of people didn't know they existed, that 1% that do, 99% have never seen one in real life. Im seriously digging the body myself. More I look at it the more I'm itching to get one ordered. Don't care for the plastic steering links though. My only complaint but it's price point is stupid low so replacing plastic with proper bits (that I probably already have) is no problem. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk |

It's funny, the FJ has been discontinued for awhile now, but here recently I've been seeing more and more of them in my area. Now the wife wants me to find her a 1:1 FJ or 4Runner since she just paid off her Honda! She couldn't have picked a more hard to find and pricey pair of vehicles than these! ![]()

Ugh I was good on saving money since too since I've got a few unbuilt rigs in the way.

that's a nice looking IFS. The only thing I don't like is the steering system. It reminds me of the Twin Hammers steering rack setup that worked great until the first time you got it dirty.

Looks great from here, and that’s a good price point these days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looks like a lot of plastic under there. For $299 though, not bad. Element did confirm the IFS system will come out as a separate kit eventually. I assume once sales of the RTR drop down a little. |

The steering system does look interesting. I can see some aftermarket opportunity there with maybe some sort of bearing setup and some aluminum instead of that brass pin. I do wonder if dirt will be a problem, but it looks like a pretty tight package. I'm not sure I can resist at least getting the IFS2 by itself, but for $299 for the whole truck seems pretty good to me. Edit: The clearance difference shown in the video is pretty substantial; wow. I have a Knightrunner I'd like to have the IFS2 on. Not to mention that garage box contains pretty much every 80s reference imaginable except may be Air Wolf. i think they got themselves a winner at that price point and elements reputation in the market right now ... they have a great line up and this one is gonna be heard to get them in stock for a while .. i can see their first batch to sell pretty quick.

Looks neat. I wonder if there's any adjustment you can make. Too bad you cannot widen it like the gen-1. At least ot doesn't look to be.

So the plan WAS, an IERC Merge X Evo kit with F10 portals, with a HPI Venture body. But now that this is releasing, the Utron body will go on instead and I can save the HPI body. I think with this pickup body, it'll have a much more aggressive rock crawler appeal. Still haven't lined up a transmission for that build... Then the remaining Enduro SE kit will get a random Toyota body, spare or possibly a loaner rig.

A few more pics of the new Utron Trail Truck to share. A nice comparison of the IFS V1 and the new IFS2. The more I see this new rig, the more excited I get to picking one up when they become available! Pictures taken by Brad Geck of GeckoTrails. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Seeing the differences in the IFS in one picture is cool, but don't let your eyes fool yourself (everyone reading) in the ground clearance aspect as the Utron is wearing the taller 4.7 tires.

I believe if I read correctly, the Utron is wearing the new smaller 1.9”x4.19” Pinseeker tires. The Knightrunner does have the smaller 1.55”x3.85” General Grabbers on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Beat me to it. But it is a valid point, 4.19’s vs 3.85’s. Still is a big improvement Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
