ok got a few minutes today to work up a servo mount i used one stock servo mounting strap , the one that normally goes under the axle for the top to be bolted too. i cut it in half and will flip it up side down and mount it on top of the axle tube . it will be tig welded to the tube . the back of the servo plate will be bolted through where the gear cover attaches . strong and simple . i also wanted to offset the weight of the motor being shifted off center and also keep the servo weight as low as possible . here is what i came up with |

today i did a knuckle mod to make hi-steer knuckles . why all manufactures always put the steering arm in the middle of the knuckle is a mystery . i wanted to move the steering arm to a higher place to raise the tie rods without stacking spacers under the tie rod , much stronger way to raise the tie rod . this mod is allowing the tie rod to be raised just under an inch . i cut the arms from the knuckles sanded off the anodize finish and then shaped the arms to fit flush with the top of the knuckle. fire up the tig welder and 10 mins later hi-steer knuckles check it out |

well i had heard that someone was working on hi-steer knuckles but i did some cad design for some knuckles a couple weeks back and have submitted the drawing for bid. if i get some acceptable quotes i might do a big run . the design i did is a multi piece design but that's all i can say right now | |

alrighty then , did some shaping and smoothing on the knuckles and the axles are just about done , just need to weld on the servo mount and i can start putting the links axles and chassis together.

Very clean installation, I sure hope one of the vendors offers something similar for those of us who don't have the equipment necessary to execute these mods. |

That came out great! So why didn't you run the lower links inside the skid plate? Also have you considered a longer bolt at the upper axle mounts? Create sort of a double shear mount and take some stress away from the gear case. |

well i was able to inboard the lower links after fitting a motor in place . my original measurement put the links into the motor but turns out it clears fine. it also took out most of the axle steer also started fabing the servo mount , the goal was to keep it low |

Nice work Alan, looks real good. One thing I'd try is to move the upper links outside the chassis, and outside the linkmounts, to widen them. I kinda like it with the XL's on it |
