60 grit flap wheel on a 4" angle grinder, fast and nasty, but it worked!

I use one of these http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/objec...9500/59498.JPG with an 80 grit flap disc Gets the job done fast. They don't come out super pretty but the rocks smooth them out the rest of the way. I don't know how you guys do it, but i mount them on the wheel with the foam in.

Eric I didn't notice if you had it listed in your thread but could I get an individual weight of one of you upper and one lower links?

Almost forgot that I took these pics for you. They are cell phone pics but thats what you get when I am multitasking and slammed.

Lower front 8g

Lower rear 9g

I cant remember if this was a front or rear upper. 5g

Then here was a post I had when I did the TI links. Looks like the picture above would have been a rear? Assuming the rod ends weigh 1g each. Just doing math, I am assuming 3.5g each rear TI link, 2g each front TI link.

They are much smaller diameter obviously giving me better clearances and they came out a couple grams lighter, about 1.5 grams per link for a total savings of 6g over all and its a really great place to save it from

3/16 AL uppers 11g front (14g rear)

1/8 TI uppers 8g front (11g rear)

Couple random shots of the new upper links. Pretty crazy how tiny they are. Ti is some good stuff.

Thanks guys!

Looks like my mock testing really paid off this time. The Claws were unbelievable down there. I still hate them everywhere else though I will be happy to go back to my normal setup, I think. I did figure out why I hate a crazy amount of hop in the front. I put some fresh tread on and everything was much better (still worse than Donas). Thanks for the tips guys!

I think my best placing in St. G was probably 25th before this For the life of me I could never drive down there since it is so different. So, this feels really good. I am really good with 2nd place too. 1st would just make me lazy. I like having the hunger.

I had some wild inspiration yesterday to build a chassis. I really like the SS chassis but there were some changes that I wanted to make at the same time. I also wanted a chassis that matched my super chassis. Not too many truck chassis around so this should separate me from the others.

I took the chassis out for its maiden voyage today. It cleaned up obstacles like never before. I am really happy with it. I made the part of the side plate under the front shock mounts quite a bit higher than the rockshow and I think that really messed with my eyes. It looks like its riding really tall but its actually down a touch front and rear as I put the shock holes up higher than the T1E. I am pretty stoked to see where this chassis will take me.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I am running Rovers and loving them! It was really nice to put the Sedonas back on after the Boss claws in the location above but, I tried the Rovers and promised and they are tearing it up!

I think all three tires have their place and can see myself still using Sedonas and BC's but using them in different locations.

One of the favorite parts of the new chassis is the unexpected weight loss.

SS chassis 1.7oz. It was actually less since I cut the skid off. Not sure how much.

I was lazy so I just weighed the old plates vs new.

Old plates 30g

New plates 21g

So, if everything is correct then that means this chassis should be pretty close to 1.3oz, 1.6oz with panels RTR. .3oz is quite a bit to lose out of the chassis for me at this point in the game. Maybe the lightest chassis out there?

Do you have sipped and shaved your Rovers? Any close up pix, Erik?

I dont have these ones siped, just shaved. I forgot to tighten a set screw in my steel ring so it tore up the inner sidewall on my rover pretty bad. The only other set of Rovers I have are siped so I am going to put a bit of time on these and then switch over to the siped ones to see which I like better. I am not sure a tire could feel better on this terrain though?
